Ryanair Boeing 737-800 by alucas Jerez has its own international airport out to the east of the city. There are not many international flights at the moment, but Ryanair fly there from London Stansted and Frankfurt Hahn. For more information on the airport see my seperate tip on Jerez airport. This was written just after our last visit in May 2006, and contains information about the airport, plus some pictures inside the terminal. The best way to get into the city is take a taxi (about 11 euros). There is also a bus service to the city centre (new this year), as well as two regular bus services (0.85 euros) Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Jerez has a nice, modern airport which is easy to access, and not too busy. There are only a few international flights daily and several internal flights to Madrid and Barcelona. Besides the twice daily Ryanair flight to London Stansted, there is also one a day to Frankfurt (Hahn), and on the day we travelled through there was also a flight to Brussels. So maybe only ten flights a day in total. There are 13 check-in desks, and only five departure gates - they seem to use Gate 1 for ALL international flights as I have never seen any other used in half-a-dozen visits. There is ample seating available by the gates, and a bar and shop in the departure lounge. However, if you want something to eat or drink it is best to do so BEFORE you go through security, as there is a cafeteria / lounge on the first floor (directly above the check-in desks). This is a good place for that late breakfast if you have left the hotel early to make the morning flight back to London. The lounge looks out over the passenger apron, and you can watch the planes come and go if you are lucky - there aren't very many of them ! Leave a Comment

The Andalucian express stops at Jerez. The return fare to Seville was 10.40 euros in 2003, and the journey took just over an hour. The train was clean and comfortable, but travelling back on a Friday afternoon, the train was quite crowded, mainly with students going home for the weekend ! The current fare (November 2004) is 5.85 euros one way. Full timetables for Spanish trains, and the latest fares are on the website. Leave a Comment

Jerez Station by alucas Trains from Jerez run to Cadiz at least once an hour. Although the local train is quite slow, stopping at every station, and takes 50 minutes, it does take you reasonably close to the city centre. The fare was 3.90 euros return when we did the trip in 2003. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

The tourist bus links all the main attractions including the Equestrian School, the Alcazar, the Cathedral and the Bodegas. There are eleven stops on the circular tour. A good starting point is Plaza del Arenal. Tickets are valid all day, so you can hop on and off as you please. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus
