Clandestino: Try the risotto, it's great!

by PrincessMonja Written Mar 16, 2013 184 reviews

This is a great funky restaurant in the centre of Málaga. Great staff and extra points to them for having the gluten free options clearly marked on the menu, hooray!

Favorite Dish: Mushroom & langoustine risotto and the duck, quail egg & spinach salad are both delicious.
And for dessert carpaccio of pineapple, fantastic!

The interior of this little gem is just like a French bistro. Wooden tables, rough brick walls and low lighting. The waitresses average an age of 20yrs and are the funkiest little workers Ive ever seen. Cropped hair, piercings, vest tops...oh my God you might say, but believe me the average age of the diner is probably 40yrs! This restaurante has a great atmosphere and is always packed ...mainly with Spanish, and a wide range of customers from business guys to grey haired grannies. Why???...Cos the food is out of this world!

Favorite Dish: If you like duck...go for it! Ive had duck in 2 different ways and both induced ecstatic gasps from me. The salads are to die for...unusual and huge, so we always share one. The desserts are out of this world.

Im not saying anymore...go and try for yourself!

A restaurant with a different menu than other local venues. A lot of vegetarian too on a good sized varied menu. Serves very good food, although the postre (dessert) I chose - Crumble - was ways beyond the quality of my Blini with Tuna and the perfect Steak. I was there for lunch but you could easily imagine the atmosphere by night, an old hidden inn. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic. The 3-course menu of the day is good value for money. To choose from the menu is a lot more expensive.

Favorite Dish: Everything on the other plates looked as mouthwatering as mine. Modern clean plates, food beautifully arranged.

    El clandestino

Very good restaurant where you will have a good lunch or dinner. Very good service and staff friendly.

Es el restaurante mas popular en el centro de Málaga, comida moderna, personal vestido a estilo hippie y el servicio es muy bueno.

Favorite Dish: The cesar salad, pasta and the cheese cake, ummmmm delicious

La ensalada cesar, pasta y la tarde de queso, ummmmmm

But they are fantastic... sympathic and very very nice...
