I love this place - huge vaulted celings, flagstone floors and walls lined with enormous barrels signed by many literary greats. It's always buzzy here and sometimes has live music too. Food is limited, a few tapas dishes and a mixture of mini filled toasted rolls.
At Calle Granada we can find this classic in between the Picasso Museum and Plaza de la Merced.
It was famous by the poets that began to come in the 70´s 80´s and later all famous person had to stop here for a photo and a wine!
Still the same spirit
During the 1970´s many famous Spanish writers used to attend this bar, they met regularly on Fridays. You will see barrels signed by the artists.
We only went for drinks.... we had sweet wine and danced! (It's not a place to dance, but, I dance EVERYWHERE!)
Cool atmosphere and decor.
