El Pozo Viejo: Quaint Plaza Restaurant with Great Service!
The Plaza was full of character, filled with well kept buildings and restaurants filled with tourists. El Pozo Viejo had regular dinner tables and higher bar stools/tables as well. The server was friendly and helpful about the menu. Tapas was served on a timely basis one after the other so we could enjoy each selection. The server was genuinely interested to answer questions as well. When we asked what "pozo viejo" meant, he showed us! He took us into the interior part of the restaurant and showed us the original house's well!
Favorite Dish: Our favorite tapas dish was the Cod stuffed red peppers. The fish was fresh and the peppers baked to perfection. It was served warm and the 1/2 portion was a perfect compliment to the other tapas choices, meatballs (ok) and steamed mussels with lemon (Mmmm)
A absolutely romantic place: POZO VIEJO
POZO VIEJO, at Plaza Altamirano.
They have a gorgeous patio, where you can enjoy a great dinner.
We went with people from all over the world, that came to a friends wedding .. Argentina, Colombia, USA (mainly Houston), turkey, Greece, Norway .....
We asked for paella, so they could try it, but i would not suggest that.... that’s only for tourist lol.. if you want a paella go to the beach ones....
Ask for the "carne a la piedra" for two..ummm delicious....
it can get from 60 up to 100 per person (well it was a big party so we had too much of everything LOL)
POZO VIEJO: Great surroundings on the outdoor patio.
Located in the heart of Marbella's Old Town. The restaurant can be busy at times, but try to get a table on the patio. The patio is decorated in typical Andalucian style and its walls are draped with potted flowers.
Favorite Dish: I had a steak served with spinach and Patatas de Pobre (poor mans patato's). It was very nice, and the remainder of the menu looked good too.
