The longest and nicest beach, but too rocky sand beach for me. Lots of restaurants, but the best... the company, thanks Nuria and Placido for being so good friends

As with any town in Spain, it has its Town Hall, normally well kept and the center of the local administration. Often they contain the local tourist office.

Entrance fee to the Nerja Caves
  • Tip Rating:
  • The entrance fee to the Caves of Nerja were reasonable in our opinion. About 10 Euros for two people , not too bad.

    Balcon de Europa
  • Tip Rating:
  • The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged. Narrow streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces with geraniums... This is an old castle of the 9th century.

this ship was called La Dorada This boat ( Chanquete's fishing boat), has been a symbol of Nerja's tourist boom. The TV serie of "Verano azul" is in the memory of all of us. Today it stands in the Parque Verano Azul

    General Post Office.
The General Post office, or Correos, is located on Calle Almirante Ferrandiz; which is better known by the English ex Pat. locals AS Post Office Street for that very reason. Its location is just up from the Balcon de Europa (right hand fork). Be prepared to wait in a queue if you need to use the counter services.

    Balcon de Europa.
When. (I say WHEN because EVERYBODY who visits Nerja has to see, at least once, the Balcon de Europa.) Anyway, when you take in the view from the Balcon, (Balcony of Europe), you may wonder at the life size bronze statue at the seaward end. This is a statue of King Alfonso XII of Spain. He was the king who, upon visiting Nerja, stated that it was "The balcony of Europe" and lo and behold the Balcon as it stands now was built upon the ruins of a sixteenth century castle.
