    Chinese Restaurant Another excellent Chinese restaurant is the Dragon Inn. Once again, all the usual things you expect to be on a Chinese menu are available. This restaurant is a bit smaller than the Chinese House but none the worse for this. Food is well presented and very good. Take away service is available here too. Fully licensed. Try it. You will not be dissapointed.

    Perfect ambience. All food is good, I would have to list the menu! Disabled notes: One step from the pavement then level inside.

  • there are specialist on tapas and fried fish of the area, all locals come here. Try to seat at the terrace on the top they have. Calle Bolivia, ask locals, as if you do not know it you can get lost.

    When in spain you must try paella. It contains rice, king prawns, chicken, mussells, red pepper and squid. We ate ours in the local bar "san juan".

    I've not visited for a meal, but was so impressed by the exterior of this restaurant. It served Mexican style food. When I return I will visit it and post my impressions here.

  • As I said there are literally hundreds of good bars and restaurants in this small town but you must not miss the man who makes a GIANT PAELLA at one of the beach side restaurants

    here we are the 3 mosqueters, friends from Uni, that still we keep in contact as often as when can. Placido lives ther, and has his own pub, so it is great to be there, enjoying good music (he is and will be always my favorite discjockey, as to locals about Plax) Sandra and me always willing to go there and have fun!!

    Thelma's Kitchen is just out of Nerja at the El Zoco complex. This is only a small restaurant but the food is great. Th efood is cooked fresh so you may have to wait a little longer than in the ordinary Indian restaurant. There are only a few tables inside but there is an extra area for eating outside under a canopy in the summer. There is a reasonably sized area for parking but it does get filled up quickly.

    Goan Chicken is the best I have ever tasted. Disabled notes: Many steps at 'El Zoco', so not good for wheelchairs.

    A trip to Playa Burriana would not be complete without a trip down the boardwalk to AYO, a good paella restaruant that's been around for more than 20 years. The restaruant used to be out on the beach itself and was quite rustic. It is now back about 20 yards and a bit more refined, serving delicious paella and seafood under a shady canopy. Best of all, still working the paella pans each morning and afternoon is one of the founders of the Cave of Nerja. We sat down and spoke to him about his adventures back in the late 1950's and spoke long enough to get him to bring out a beautiful photo album of he and his friends exploring the dramatic cave in those early days. However, we never had a bad meal at the beach restaurants. Try a different one each day and compare the fresh grilled catch of the day. The guys all know how to barbecue a fish!!

    Paella, sangria and fresh caught fish of the day!

    Restaurant with great view of Balcon de Europe from large outside terrace. Pizzas are reasonably good as is pasta, can't comment on anything else. Staff are young and a mixture of nationalities. One waitress was particularly frighteningly stern.
