    Very good food specialising in seafood. The restaurant overlooks the sea and there is an outside terrace. At night you can watch the lights of the fishing boats and listen to the crashing of the waves. Staff are all Spanish but the menu is in English and German as well as Spanish. You can have just a drink or coffee here and the view during the day is lovely.

  • Directions: Take the road to Torrox and the restaurant is opposite Tamango Hill overlooking the sea. There is a little beach below with umbrellas and the restaurant hires out sunbeds.

  • La Taberna del Sacristan is a lovely restaurant right in the centre of Frigiliana right in front of the church. There is outside seating in the Plaza with a view of the church front. The food is excellent and the staff are very good. The menu is in English as well as Spanish and the waiters speak good English. In the evening, it is a lovely place to have dinner. It is also open at Lunchtime. This is my favourite restaurant. It is dearer than average but not exceedingly so. Our last meal for two with three courses, water, house wine and coffee came to just under 60 Euros. The female diners always get a flower on leaving.

    They have a great grilled vegetable selection for starters and the fish dishes are good. All main courses are served with a baked potato.

    The Las Chinas restaurant is in Frigiliana. The restaurant is below a small hotel of the same name and as well as seating inside, it has three or four tables across the street opposite it. The restaurant does not look fancy or anything and is basically on the side of a street but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced with good-sized portions. The street is not very busy but there is a bus stop close by. There is a variety of set menus at an unbelievably cheap price including a set for vegetarians and a several seafood ones but you can order a la carte as well. The food is Spanish but there is an English menu. The fish is a great choice. The restaurant seems to be well frequented by the locals. The waiters are very good and very friendly. One lunchtime we were accompanied at our table by a dozing cat in one of the seats.

    Basically any seafood including the fried squid.

    We made full use of our hotel balcony at the Balcon de Europa Hotel and brought our meal from Palacio del Pollo Asado back to our room. This was probably our best view during a meal on our trip and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

  • The Restaurant is part of the Hotel Carabeo and is about two minutes walk from theBalcon de Europa. I would describe the food as International. The starters and desserts are excellent, the main courses less so but still good. There is a good wine list and cocktail menu. The staff are first class, extremely pleasant and attentive, and the surroundings great, you can choose tables from inside, on the terrace or in the garden (bookings essential). It is expensive by local standards, probably most expensive in Nerja. Our meal for two, in 2005, with three courses, a good bottle of wine, one beer, two mineral waters, two coffees and a cocktail was approx. 88 Euros. Sometimes there is guitarist playing Flamenco music and there is also a bettter class of strolling buskers who drop in. It is a good choice for a special meal. Closed on Mondays.

  • Good local restaurant with outside seating. Great view of countryside from outside seats. Staff all Spanish but menu is in English as well as Spanish. Good toilets.

    Excellent Chinese restaurant on promenade in Torrox-Costa. If you have a car, it's well worth coming here to this fairly recently opened place. The food is great, and there is little extra flourishes like vegetable carved as birds. Interior is large and pleasant.

    Pescado con Salsa Picant, fish with spicy sauce.

    A popular restaurant overlooking the beach at Playa Torrecilla. There are outside seats on the promenade and seating inside but still with good view of beach. The food is better than you would expect from its location close to the beach and more Spanish than international. Lunch for two including sangria was generally less than 30 Euros, reasonably priced as this was for fish dishes. The waiters are very quick in fact one usually runs from kitchen to table. Also good spot to have coffee or a drink and ogle people on the beach. One of the days we were there, there was a mobile massage centre on the beach with staff from nearby hotel's health centre.

  • The food was nice, when I eventually got it!! I ordered a jacket potato and all my companions were almost finished there food when I went and enquired about mine and I was told the potato was bad in the sentre did I want another so I sed well yes!! I got my food quite late after waiting half an hour for everyone else to recieve theres! And we didnt even get half the side orders!!

    The one good thing was the chocolate waffles!! It is a must try in Nerja! Very sweet to taste but very delightful!

  • A small restaurant run by a Dutch couple who spent a lot of time in Thailand ,which has influenced their cooking. Meals are freshly prepared, delicious and incredibly cheap. 8 Thai fishcakes with 2 dipping sauces for 4 euro. They were gorgeous. We only found it on our last night otherwise I could comment on other dishes. We will return to Nerja and definitely to this address! The house white wine was only 8 Euro and very palatable.
