tucked away behind the prom at the lighthouse end of the beach at torrox costa. very intimate and friendly. ran by an englishman and his swedish partner.all of the food is home cooked and fresh. the owners are very friendly and interacted with the clients, we must of spent an hour chatting about diferent things. as i have said all of the food is fresh and the menu extensive, inc specials of the day etc, a must visit if you are in torrox.
Favorite Dish: i had fillet steak in a wild mushroom sauce, the steak was not small by any means, and the fresh veg were great, followed by apple pie and real custard (i know im a bit boring, but i love my trad puds) there were many more exotic choices right acroos the menu

A small restaurant run by a Dutch couple who spent a lot of time in Thailand ,which has influenced their cooking. Meals are freshly prepared, delicious and incredibly cheap. 8 Thai fishcakes with 2 dipping sauces for 4 euro. They were gorgeous. We only found it on our last night otherwise I could comment on other dishes. We will return to Nerja and definitely to this address! The house white wine was only 8 Euro and very palatable.SORRY GUYS WHEN BACK IN NERJA RECENTLY(MAY2008) SADLY DISCOVERED RESTAURANT DID NOT SURVIVE THE WINTER...VERY SAD AS IT WAS REALLY GOOD..AH WELL RESEARCH WILL CONTINUE !!

Lovely ambience. Youare invited to sit on comfy couches to lookat the menu beside lovely cuddly toys! Prices are reasonable. I started with a tasy Mushroom Risotto followed by herb crusted rack of Lamb.Mint sauce offered. The thyme was from their own garden. The dish was tasty and there was a vast amount of meat! My wife had soup ,fresh and tasty followed by the pork knuckle. It was huge and carved by the chef at the table, plenty of crackling and succulent pork. She was unable to finish it. Apple sauce provided. UPDATE back in Nerja in May 2008...Restaurant has changed hands...VERDICT....good but different
Favorite Dish: Definitely try the Pork or Lamb. Service is naturally relaxed as all dishes are freshly prepared. The two ladies who run the restaraunt are charming and friendly. We tried to return but it was closed for a few days holidays....well deserved.

One of Placido's restaurants is the REDONDO ROUND BAR. Frequented by locals and tourists alike, the Redondo features Tapas set in dishes around a circular bar with cozy booths surrounding the bar. The Tapas looked and smelled delicious.

Fabulous food as well as a first class presentation. All dishes are properly plated and the food is fresh and good. Servers are friendly and very efficient. A little off the main drag but very easy to find and only a ten minute stroll from the Balcon De Europa. This restaurant was started in October 2006 by two British ladies that are doing an outstanding job at providing a wonderful dining experience at a fair price. We ate there two nights on a three night stay in Nerja and almost went back the third night, but had a craving for pizza. We were really made to feel comfortable and the ambiance was very friendly.
Favorite Dish: Had the three course menu of the day that was a fine mixed salad, chicken fettucini, and choice of dessert. Second time we tried the Sunday lunch special and chose an avocado w/blue cheese, roast of pork, roasted new potatoes and a dessert. It was all very tasty and the prices weere incredibly low considering the quality of food, service and ambiance. The meals came with warm bread and a free brandy presented with the check. Prices were 13 Euro each not including the wine. Check out this place, you won't be sorry.

In a great location just past the round bar, this is a great little place to eat, which gets very busy. We struggled to get a table for 2, all tables outside & upstairs on the balcony were taken - however they did accommodate us just next to the bar, on a little table sort of squeezed in there. Normally this would tick me off a little bit, however the place was so cosy, warm, convivial, friendly staff, great service & great food.

The churros in La 4 Esquinos Café are the best in Nerja. The hot chocolate is divine, extremely thick and chocolately. The coffee is pretty good too.
This café is well used by Spanish locals and Spanish tourists providing a noisy but great atmosphere.
It's also very cheap. The churros are served up to 12.00 noon.
Favorite Dish: Churros and hot chocolate.

Fish and chips and beer. Well, what else, oh yes ...fish and chips and beer. I know when one is removed from ones usual habitat one should partake of the local culinary delight. So what! Sometimes you just want fish and chips and beer. Probably had more fish and chips and beer in here than I do at home. It's really good. Great value, very friendly, and simply splendid chish and fips!
Favorite Dish: Fish and Chips and beer

A trip to Playa Burriana would not be complete without a trip down the boardwalk to AYO, a good paella restaruant that's been around for more than 20 years. The restaruant used to be out on the beach itself and was quite rustic. It is now back about 20 yards and a bit more refined, serving delicious paella and seafood under a shady canopy.
Best of all, still working the paella pans each morning and afternoon is one of the founders of the Cave of Nerja. We sat down and spoke to him about his adventures back in the late 1950's and spoke long enough to get him to bring out a beautiful photo album of he and his friends exploring the dramatic cave in those early days.
However, we never had a bad meal at the beach restaurants. Try a different one each day and compare the fresh grilled catch of the day. The guys all know how to barbecue a fish!!
Favorite Dish: Paella, sangria and fresh caught fish of the day!

A: At this time of the year. most of the larger supermarkets have a space allocated to " outside" furniture so that may be the best place to head for.
