Restaurant with great view of Balcon de Europe from large outside terrace. Pizzas are reasonably good as is pasta, can't comment on anything else. Staff are young and a mixture of nationalities. One waitress was particularly frighteningly stern.
Favorite Dish: Pizza

Pleasant little pizza and pasta restaurant close to the Balcon de Europa with an eclectic interior design. The pasta dishes are the restaurant's strength, very good although not sure if totally authentic. Pizzas aren't bad either. Staff are Spanish.
Favorite Dish: Any pasta dish

The Las Chinas restaurant is in Frigiliana.
The restaurant is below a small hotel of the same name and as well as seating inside, it has three or four tables across the street opposite it. The restaurant does not look fancy or anything and is basically on the side of a street but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced with good-sized portions. The street is not very busy but there is a bus stop close by.
There is a variety of set menus at an unbelievably cheap price including a set for vegetarians and a several seafood ones but you can order a la carte as well. The food is Spanish but there is an English menu. The fish is a great choice.
The restaurant seems to be well frequented by the locals.
The waiters are very good and very friendly. One lunchtime we were accompanied at our table by a dozing cat in one of the seats.
Favorite Dish: Basically any seafood including the fried squid.

At last, I remembered the name of the place. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Nerja and a place where you can eat with the locals. When the Small Person was even smaller, 'Antonio' popped her into a high chair in the kitchen with his own brood of small people, so we could enjoy our meal in peace (She was in full view of us, but with other small people, so she wasn't bored). Fantastic! She was dutifully brought back (smiling away) happily, for deserts.
Natuarally, I like Spanish food and this place does great tapas. It is also reasonably priced.

Burriana beach is lined with beachside restaurants, the most famous being Ayo's, who provide the vision of Paella being cooked in huge pans over open log fires, catering for up to 100 people at a time. Spanish families flock here on Sunday lunchtimes. Ayo himself has become something of a celebrity having been featured on holiday programmes. He is always happy to have a chat about the cooking of paella and apparently, was one of the original young lads to discover the Caves of Nerja.
It is open during the whole year, from the morning until the evening.
An experience not to be missed.
Favorite Dish: Paella (pronounced 'pie-ell-ya' in phonic English !) - can come in different varieties. I usually opt for a seafood paella. It is delicious and very filling.
A portion costs just €4.80
There is also a reasonably priced menu for other Spanish food.

Frequented by locals and tourists alike, you will find the Round Bar in the old part of town on Calle Glora . It is a great Andalucian bistro type place serving value for money good quality food. Often, if you just call in for a drink you can be served with a complimentary Tapas.
Sometimes,we just intended to pop in for a quick beer, but the tapas (set around a circular bar) were just too tempting and we stayed much longer.
Although obviously contemporary in decor, this bar reminds me of old Spanish style place in the way that you are charged a rough amount for what you have eaten or drunk.. A beer is the price of a beer, but when you start eating the tapas, the price of the beer seems to go down, (or quite often, completely disappear)! Our bills were always unexpectably low here.
A good variety of tapas were available, for veggy, fish or meat eaters alike, and much to my delight, they nearly always had 'Boquerones Fritos' available - Yum!
Dishes are typically available in different sizes, tapa or raciones or a large plate.
Recommended, (although, as it was so busy in May, I expect the summer could be rather hard to grab a stool).
Favorite Dish: Boquerones (fried, not in vinegar) and often hard to find elsewhere.

We ate in this stylish and spotlessly clean restaurant and it was most enjoyable. The food was good, beautifully and creatively presented. Their gazpacho (a cold, Spanish soup which is very refreshing), was particularly wonderful .
We noticed the tapas looked particularly good and returned the following day, for lunch in the bar and we weren't dissappointed. When we return to Nerja, Casa Luque will definitely be a regular lunch spot, although evening dining is a little more expensive.
Put this on your Nerja restaurant list for a spceial meal out, in your nicer clothes.
In warm weather there is a lovely garden overlooking the sea.

you can sit at the small round tables and take in some tapas, or sit down in the restaurant for a full 3 course meal
their menu is definately posh Spanish
Favorite Dish: their white gazpacho soup was wonderful, full of the flavour of almonds, oils and balsamic vinegar and a couple of hidden raisins too!

We made full use of our hotel balcony at the Balcon de Europa Hotel and brought our meal from Palacio del Pollo Asado back to our room. This was probably our best view during a meal on our trip and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Are you looking for something to bring down to the beach for a picnic? Want a good hot meal but don't want to spend a lot of euros? If this is the case bring yourself over to Palacio del Pollo Asado for a fresh hot roasted chicken meal. For just €9 you can get a whole fresh roast chicken right off of the spit in addition to home made potatoes and dipping sauce (ali-oli or hot and spicy). For a bit more you can add a cold beer or soda from their refrigerator. There also sell other variations on the meal as well as 1/2 chickens all for very reasonable prices.
This was a great meal to take back to our hotel balcony overlooking the ocean.

A: At this time of the year. most of the larger supermarkets have a space allocated to " outside" furniture so that may be the best place to head for.
