The beach is great at Puerto Banus, in the way that it's a great place to take the kids. The bottom is sand all the way out, and the piers make it safe for the smallest.
You have to come early if you want to park nearby, but an alternative is to park next to the Casino on the other side of the highway. From there there is a pedestrian tunnel under the highway, and the walk down isn't to bad.
Sundays the Spanish families go to the beach, and it get's real crowded.
There is much better space at the beach in nearby San Pedro, but it's more rocky and not that ideal for kids. Parking is a lot easier though.
Favorite thing: On Saturdays there is a market at the area above the Bullring in Nueva Andalucia. There is a slight difference with this market compared to the Thursday market at nearby San Pedro. There you can get friut and vegetables, while at the Saturday market here you will find more of things like leather ware, art and furniture. Both markets have the usual clothes, handbags, sunglasses and other cheap stuff.
Favorite thing: Located near the Harbour is the watchtower LA TORRE. I tried to find out a little bit about this Tower but did not have any success. We did have a peek inside and you'll never guess what it is used for --- a Bank. Yes I said --- a Bank. The upper area of the Tower had curtains on the windows, so perhaps it contains living quarters??? Hey, it must be a fabulous view from up there.
Favorite thing: Right near the Harbour area, you will see a lovely little chapel dedicated to NUESTRA SENORA DEL CARMEN. It is all enclosed, with a little slot to slip in your donation. It really is beautiful to see "Our Lady and Child" looking over the Harbour and perhaps protecting the sailors that pass by.
Favorite thing: I thought I would stop in at the OFICINA MUNICIPAL DE TURISMO to see what kind of brochures they had and what there was to do here. First of all, it was a very small office and they really didn't have anything to offer me, not even a map. They only had the usual brochures of the attractions available in the area. Sniff Sniff - nothing for my scrapbook.
Look at this one ,this different ,it looks like a boat from an Asian country, I forgot to find out where this boat was from , it sure looks different from the other ones.
It does have a Spanish flag ,so it might be a local boat.
Puerto Banus is one of the world’s most famous holiday destinations.
That’s why many British pop stars and Hollywood movie stars come often in summer.
Few other small towns in the world can boast such notoriety.
Puerto Jose Banus was inaugurated in May of 1970.
When José Banús gave his name to this famous port none though it would become as famous as it had happened being one of the most famous marinas in Europe.
Now Puerto Banús is synonymous with wealth, fashion, glamorous parties and the 'highlife & nightlife'.
The "place to be" and "to be seen".
Well if you like luxurious cars... here is the place to watch them .... but if you ever have the feeling you would love to have one of them lol, think that with the yearly maintenance of them you can go on holidays heheheh is a question of priorities lol
Puerto Banus is situated between Marbella and San Pedro (approximately 6 km from Marbella, and is home to some of the most impressive yachts in the world.
Also some of the buildings have incredible prices.... really ...
Favorite thing: One of my favourite things about Puerto Banus and Spain in general, are all the WONDERFUL LAMP-POSTS that can be found here.
Favorite thing: I just have to show this one from the front ,this is a Ship, Geoff Wright told me when he saw these Boats/Ships some had cars parked on them two cars side by side .hahaha wow what a beauty eh.
Favorite thing: Yeahhhh I found a Dutch boat , Rotterdam based , very nice ,I wish I could go on it and go to Rotterdam.
This little boat is called the Atlantic Goose , not a bad looking Goose I would say .
