Puerto Banus Nightlife

Before I left for Puerto Banus, EVERYONE was talking about Sinatra Bar and telling me how I simply MUST go there. It's said to be THE place to meet, THE place to see and be seen, THE place to people watch.

I was therefore very taken aback when I saw the place. I had walked up and down the strip several times looking for it, and clearly passed it each time without seeing it. It's a very unassuming streetfront bar that's open to the street. It's not a bit plush or glamorous and it looked as though everyone was standing there hoping that the person beside them would be famous.

I didn't stop for a drink - not this time.

Dress Code: Dress in your most glamorous outfit; PB in general is that kind of place.

Bar Sofia is the name of the quiet cocktail bar attached to the Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus.

The liveliest time to drink here is between the hours of 6pm and 9pm as people gather after an afternoon on the beaches, or while waiting for taxis to take them to dinner.

At first I found the service unfriendly, but I quickly realised that this is because many of the patrons are rude to the staff. Once we developed a friendly relationship with them we got prompt service and quick smiles every time.

The cocktails are good, with generous servings of alcohol and prices that you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. They serve nuts and snaks complimentary with drinks, and little biscuits with coffees.

As with most of PB, it's a pretty upmarket place to hang out and I'd have to be honest and say there's very little atmosphere.

The main comfortable seating is inside, but there's also seating outside and that's perhaps the best place to sit for people watching in the afternoon.

Dress Code: Shorts and t shirt by day, smart casual or smart at night.

This Irish pub always has great music and full of nice looking bar men! It is mainly for people of a younger age- lots of cocktails and performances- a great night out!

Dress Code: Prety laid back on dress code- but don't usually let a big group of men in and are known to favour letting more women in then men!

The people that go here now is normally Northern European, lots of Brits, Swedes, Danes...

Another place to go if you like to be seen by people , again not my style, but well on vacation always is different!

As I am not a posh person (at least for clothes... I have to recognise I am a little posh for hotels ;-) not backpacking anymore lol)

this is on the main area of the port, and is open with atmosphere all year aorund, a clasic for a good night as News cafe (by the way they are both very close to eachother lol)

Terraza and pub on the new side of the Puerto Banus, with views ot the beach, it looked very interesting, but I had only visited in the afternoon, so I can not say how it is at night
