When we were returning down the mountain road from Ronda there were helicopters and small planes flying around and dumping water onto fires which had started in the hills. Please be careful if you throw a lit cigarette out of a car window, in these places where the grass is so dry fires can start so easily.
Remember there are people living in these hills but also animals.

As I have mentioned the Plaza Duquesa de Parcent is a lovely spot to stop and look at the beautiful buildings and also to sit under the trees in the shade, or even cool your feet in the fountain, but beware of bad dog owners!!!! What is it with these lazy people that they cant be bothered to clean up after the dogs!!!! Its disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Don't try to park as close to the bullring or gorge as possible. This is the center of town and the busiest part. We made that mistake and found ourselves locked into a lane of cars that was trying to get into an underground lot. The underground lot filled up, and the lane of cars was trapped. We had to wait there about 15 minutes, until the cars behind us backed out and went elsewhere.

After that experience, we didn't want to park anywhere close to this area, so we found a much more sane parking lot with lots of available spaces about 7 blocks away. Look for the "libre" signs.

If you cross the gorge into the old town section, there is no hope of finding parking.

This picture, one of several, really makes me feel ill, especially when viewed on the PC full screen! Worse than standing on a cliff edge, you really feel as if you are going to fall, haha. It's just a sheer drop to the plain, hundreds of feet below.

The road up to Ronda even though in good condition is very winding and care should be taken. I would recommend not to use this road after dark if possible. Also during weekends it is known that many bikers use this road just to get a thrill on the bends, usually riding at excessive speeds and with little regard for other road users.

Please, please remember when travelling that where you are is someone's home town, village or city. I live in Andalucia and the feeling here is consistent with most of my friends and locals also that wandering around in a bikini top or in the case of men - topless is not necessary unless at the beach. We don't want to have our lunchtime spoiled by watching lots of white flesh strolling by! Be cool and comfortable by all means but give Ronda (and the rest of Spanish towns) the respect it deserves and dress accordingly.

	Do not fall off of the 'New Bridge' taking photos!

Unfortunately, a number of tourists have fallen to their deaths from the heights of the tall bridge that connects the old and new sections of Ronda.

Often, it seemed, they were making an ill-advised attempt to lean over that extra inch to take a spectacular photograph of the valley below. Take all the pictures that you want but please be sure that you do it safely!

I did not see it happen, but it does. In many areas there are not railings and nice rocky projections that look like places from which to take a picture. Of course a slip would undoubtedly be fatal. Even with a group of unsteady seniors just edging up to some spots made the tour guide almost frantic. (I remember from my youth places on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon like that, and there were no tourists).
