Lucky us!! We found this bar on the first night we were in Sevilla and sure enough we went there at least once or twice on the following days!
The place is usually CROWDED - and since there are only a few tables inside, you will find the crowds outside as well! We always gave it a try and did manage to find a place to sit down and enjoy the beer and the tapas!
The place is well known by locals as well as foreign students and tourists and despite the crowds, the staff is always friendly and efficient!
Highly recommended!
Favorite Dish: We really enjoyed everything we had there, but we did have two favorites:
the little scallops (mussels) and the eggplant with honey - yummy!!!!

The Santa Cruz Restaurant is housed on the ground floor of an 18th century Sevilian manor house in the centre of the old Santa Cruz district. There are two dining rooms, the second one is decked out in memorabilia of bullfighting. The main dining room centres around the courtyard which has a fountain.
Just a couple of the favourite dishes of the restaurant are a thick mussel and noodle soup called Andalusian Gazpacho and a typical fish fry called Jamon Serrano. They also have a tapas menu.

A little different to the Spanish drinking establishments is the Irish Merchant Pub. It was opened in 1999 in a 1920’s townhouse. There are two bars. The one downstairs carries a good range of rums and malt whiskeys and of course Guinness. In the upstairs lounge there is a pool table and comfy lounge chairs. The pub also has several big TV’s and screens to watch all the live sporting events. Food is served daily until late and then menu offers anything from Mexican, vegetarian, lamb to salads.

There are two entrances to this restaurant, one from Gloria St and the other from the square after the same name. The building is that of a typical noblemans house with terraced dining.
Some of their traditional dishes are, Paella Andaluza, Gazpacho Anduluz, Jamon Serrano, Gambas Al Ajillo and topped off with some delicious desserts.

On the West side of the Cathedral next to Robles is a restaurante that I did not expect much of since it was so close to the Cathedral, it would be tourist fare. However, the waiter was very good and recommended a tapas dish, with Paella, potato, sausages. It was very good. I hope I called the right place. In any event it is right next to Casa Robles.

The seating is in a large outside courtyard (also inside seating). It was rather quiet when I arrived at around 9:30 at the recommendation of the bartender at the hotel. The food was not memorable, hence I don't remember what I ordered.

locals eat there. Alameda del hercules and the streets around the plaza . There are wonderful places to eat. check fr the prices and foods. They usually have English menus. As a Gastronomist and a chef, i loved the place...Please eat at restaurants or cerveczerias(bars, pubs) where you can find local people. Even if you do not understand a word in spanish try to contact with locals , they are very friendly:)
Favorite Dish: seafood especially blanced squids and huelva schrimps, fish (you name it, you get it)
meat: off course cured ham: called Jamon in spanish(if you know what you are looking for, it's better than Parma Ham:)
Tapas (try the ones made with olive oil)
beer: Usually CRUZCAMPO; a pilsener beer which i liked it.
Wine: well it's up to your tastes and your degustation abilities. But for the ones who like fruity and oaky with tanin (red) and smooth, refreshing and longlasting(white), you can always try Rioja wines...

This is a very small tapa´s bar on Calle Castilla in Triana. Just the first street on your right after Triana´s bridge. Go straight ahead and follow the street in you right side.
Favorite Dish: My favorit dish the is "Latiguillo Ibérico" that is fried pork meat on wood sticks. Don´t miss Spinach with chick-peas. They are delicious. The Fried chicken is also great with a litlle bit of salt and black pepper thats make the diference.

This Italian in the Santa Cruz district is a wonderful find. The food (pasta and pizza) was very cheap, my main course was 8 euros. They are tourist friendly with a translated English menu.
The best thing about it was that part of the restaurant was situated in an old Arab baths building, stone walls and star-shaped steam holes.
It's very busy - in summer you might have to make a reservation. It opens at 8.15 in the evening.
Favorite Dish: The gnocchi was gorgeous, perfectly cooked, soft and plump!

We sampled several tapas bars in the Arenal district together; my husband was keen to do his research for VT and selflessly sampled even more.
The picture is taken in Casa Morales, Garcia de Vinuesa 14: a traditional and atmospheric little bar which looks peaceful here, but gets really really lively at night.
We also sampled tapas at the simple but charming Bodegas Diaz-Salazar, no 20, in the same street, opposite Hotel Simon.
Great tapas and friendly atmosphere at both.
Favorite Dish: Iif you try to order a "big serving" of tapas, you may cause confusion, as 'tapas' are little dishes by definition: a 'raciones' is the correct term for a larger portion. My husband tried to order a large portion of tapas for our party and was offered a large cheese in the confusion.
Some fabulous tapas to try:
* Jamon and cured sausage: this may be served with bread or the sausage may be in a sandwich like a tiny panini;
* Manchego cheese,
* Muntillitatas (baby squid).
* Revueltos: scrambled egg with a variety of other ingregiants, such as wild mushroom or prawn.
* mini kebab - called 'Pincho Moruno'
Some tapas bars specialise in fried fish.
One portion of simple tapas can be as little as 1 to 1.50 euros. Try them with 'Fino' (cold and dry sherry). The spanish beer is also recommended. Just fabulous!
