Toreador, Ole

I don't consider bullfighting a sport, though some people do. I have never seen one and have no desire to do so, but my parents went and so I am using their photos, as a page on Spain somehow would not be complete without a mention of the activity.

Hiking in the Alpujarras

by m-joy

We did the hiking tour around the three beautiful villages Pampaneira, Bubion and Campileira, which are located in the valley “Baranco del Poqueria”. The landscape with the steep mountains, the white villages and the snowy Pico Veleta of the Sierra Nevada is breathtaking all the time. Going to Pampaneira is a one and a half hour drive from Granada.Information in Pampaneira:Centro de information, Plaza de la Libertad, Tel: 958763127 good shoes for sure, lots of water, suncream

Golf heaven

by doogienj

The main reason I went to Marbella was to play golf, and I was not dissappointed. The area has some 70 courses that are located east and west of Marbella. The first course I played was Marbella golf which was so so. Some holes were unique and fun, but overall a bit bland. The course is located among several house/condo complexes which one things will take away from the beauty of the course. Strangely enough it doesn't. The course is very playable, walkable, scenic, and filled with fun holes including a par 3 over water with a mountain background. The best courses are located west of the city, Valderama and Sotogrande. They are also fairly expensive, $175-250. But in the same area there are several other courses that share the same topography and...
