Favorite thing: The dam which connects the city and Isla de las Palomas separates as well two waters - the waters of Atlantic ocean and the ones of Mediterranean sea....
Atlantic is behind us (we just left it :)) .... Mediterranean is ahead, as seemed to be our love....
Favorite thing: Tarifa is always pretty warm but it is also quite windy which makes it ideal for kiteboarders and windsurfers. Personally I would learn the basics before you get to Tarifa as the wind can pick up a lot.
Sancho IV of Castille
Favorite thing: Statue of Sancho IV (1257 - 1295), King of Castilla y Leon from 1284. Also known as Sancho the Brave, in 1291 he lead an army that recaptured Tarifa from the Moors.
The municipal museum
Favorite thing: On the square of the little frog is the municipal museum unfortunately due to time
restrictions We could not visit, but I am sure It is worth visiting.
The Church of San Mateo
Favorite thing: The main building is of late Gothic style, dating back to the 16th century. The neo-classic facade, was designed and built by the architect Torcuato Cayón in the 17th century.
Favorite thing: As many Andalucian streets, Tarifa keeps its arabic style and design.
also remeber that Tarifa is the southener point of Europe at only 14 km from Africa
Favorite thing: A few kilometrs off Tarifa ther is the most Southern poin of Europe - Punta Marroqu....
You can clearly see African shores behind me.... I wish I would never turn my head....
