The Bearhouse

Our next stop was The Bearhouse, a fairly lively place, though more expensive than the other places we visited. I drank a Murphy's Red, a drink I can only find in Irish pubs outside Britain and Ireland.

on the weekends in the summer the young people go out to the marina with bottles of wine, rum and soda and blast music from their cars. its a cultural experience not to be missed.

During the summer months, Tarifa's thriving nightlife makes a terrific way to spend the evening after a hard day at the beach! The following small selection of disco bars, some of the best, will give you a head start . . .

La Ruina in the old town

Pepepotamos in the old town

Balneario down near the beach of Tarifa town

La Jaima down near the beach of Tarifa town by the football stadium

Soul Cafe in the old town

Tanakas in the old town

In the winter months when there are less visitors there are less bars open

La casa Amarilla in the old town often features flamenco music

Continental in the old town often has live music

Cafe Central in the old town - a favourite meeting point.

Modern life in Tarifa shows its face in the form of Tapas bars, live music and disco clubs to entertain the increasing number of younger people moving to Tarifa to live.

There are also numerous restaurants and cafés featuring of course, fresh fish dishes such as Atun a la Plancha (tuna steak)
