Almerimar - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

An up and coming resort catering mostly for Spanish clientel. Unspoilt by mass tourism. Great beaches and harbour. Good nightlife in the Summer months which is relaxed and sophisticated..More information and photos can be found on my El Ejibo page.

Tip Photo
Antequera - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

A totally unspoilt gem of a city, not yet discovered by tourists, but it has much to offer. It's History dates from the Paleolithic to the present, with the 5000 year old Dolmen's of Menga, located just outside the town. The Phonecians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors and the later Christians all helped to mould the city to what it is today. The nearby natural park of 'El Torcal' is also very much worth a visit, with unbelievable rock formations sculpted over time on the limestone plateau.More information on my Antequera and Villanueva de la Conception pages

Tip Photo
El Cabo de Gata - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

Natural park located 30 kms east of the city of Almeria. Stunning scenery and beaches at Europes driest spot. The location of filming of many of the 1960's Spaghetti Western movies..More information and photos can be found on my El Cabo de Gata page.

Tip Photo
Granada - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

Probably one of Spains most well known cities, because its the location of the Alhambra Palace, the Moorish stronghold with stunning architecture. Not to be missed also is the Albeicin district and the town center with its many Tapas bars..More information and photos can be found on my Granada page.

Tip Photo
Guadix - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

A small city located 40 minutes from Granada. Its famous for its Barrio de las Trogladitas, a district where many people still live in caves. The city also has much to see from its history, with a nice cathedral and castle. It set in a beautiful location just to the north of the Sierra Nevada mountains and has three natural parks in the district.More information can be found on my Guadix page.

Tip Photo
Las Alpujarras - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

A region in the west of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Rugged mountain scenery with the towns of Orgiva and Lanjaron worth visiting..More information and photos can be found on my Las Alpujarras page.

Tip Photo
Malaga - Andalucia.

by Beach_dog

The major city located on the south coast of Andalucia. It has a great Feria (festival) held in August every summer. Also worth visiting are the Gibalfaro and Alcazaba, the fortified castle and palace over looking the city. A few interesting Museums here too..More information and photos can be found on my Malaga page.

Tip Photo
Marbella - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

A resort city 60 kms west of Malaga, along with its neighbour Puerto Banus is very popular with the jet-set. Great beaches and dont miss the Old town (Casco Antigua) district, especially at night..More information and photos can be found on my Marbella page.

Tip Photo
Ronda - Andalucia.

by Beach_dog

Take a drive into the hills from the Costa del Sol, to Ronda and the white villages. A city which straddles a high gorge. Very impressive scenery, especially of the bridges and gorge itself. The old town quarter is worth a walk through also, with its Moorish architecture, and the oldest bullring in Spain and museum..More information and photos can be found on my Ronda page.

Tip Photo
Ojen - Andalucia

by Beach_dog

One of the pretty white villages that roll down the hills of Andalucia. Ojen is located in the Sierra Blanca Mountains not far from the coastal resort of Marbella. It has an interesting Wine Museum, specialising in the local wines of the region. Also the home of Julio Inglesias.More information on my Ojen page.
