As I mentioned in my previous tip, then the steps at Camino de la Playa are steep. Fortunately there is a lift which takes you up to the upper view platform and from there there are a few steps and a short walk to the city center. As you see from the pictures the lift is hidden from view, so you have to look for it ;) at least I had to do it, but there are signs which you follow.

The lift operates from 10-12:30 and 13:15-18.

The view from the view platform is fantastic and there are binoculars there, you just pay a small fee for using them.

Camino de la Playa - a lot of steps to the center.

There are other steps to the city center than the ones leading you to Calle San Miguel, as I mentioned in previous tips. These ones are at the far end of Bajondillo beach and you climb the steps on the cliff by Hotel Meliá C. del Sol.

The steps are quite steep and I must admit that I get out of breath while climbing them, but the view from the view platform makes it all worth the while. There are benches on the way and 2 view platforms plus that there is a lift which takes you to the upper platform (see my next tip). When I have been walking there I have noticed that it is like a meeting point for teenagers, not that there is anything wrong with that, just an observation.

Note that the steps are closed from 12 at midnight until 7 in the morning, one does not want to get stuck there overnight ;)

The Camino de la Playa is a set of steps which cling to the cliffs at the end of El Bajondillo beach which were right next to my hotel - Melia Costa del Sol. The steps are pretty steep but there are rest stops along the way, including a platform which allows you to take in the views over the beach.
