From the 9th thru 15th August each year is the major festival of San Lorenzo (saint lawrence) The patron saint of Huesca born just a couple of kilometres from here and put to death on a griddle. During this week almost everyone dresses in green and white in honour of the saint and it is also the colour of the sweet basil in flower which is carried by many and displayed on balconies

Well ... it is not a local custom: it is my personal advise. Go to the pirinees in Autum as the colour of the mountains and the trees is spectacular.
