THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS THAT CAN BE DONE HERE, MOST OF THEM HAVE TO DO WITH NATURE.
IN WINTER TIME SKIING IS THE MAIN ENGINE OF THE VALLEY AND SALLENT BUT IN SUMMER TIME THE ATTRACTION OF THE PURE MOUNTAIN IS THE POWERTRACK.
ADVENTURE SPORTS ARE OFFERED, HORSEBACK RIDING, AND IF YOU RATHER HAVE A QUIETER VACATION, A NICE WALK AROUND OR GOING TO THE SWIMMING POOL OR PLAYING TENNIS OR 'FRONTON'(JAI-ALAI) IS YOUR THING.
IN AUGUST THEY CELEBRATE THE FESTIVITY OF THEIR PATRONESS 'VIRGEN DE LAS NIEVES', THE FESTIVITIES OLD SPAIN STYLE.
IN JULY YOU'LL FIND NEAR TOWN AN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL THAT BRINGS MANY PEOPLE AND SOME FAMOUS ARTISTS TO THIS TOWN.

The restaurant is divided in two parts, in one the people who will eat the day's menu are seatted and in the other one those eating the general menu. Both are beautifully decorated, with the same look, there is no apparent difference and the food is great in both.
We have tried the day-menu, which is very tasty and very well cooked and have also tried the general menu, and it is very recommendable.
The portions are huge and you will be more than satisfied with anything you might choose to eat.
The service is very correct and always ready to give whatever is needed.

It is also a hotel, but I cannot say anything about the rooms as I have never stayed overnight there.

Favorite Dish: The "Solomillo" (Sirloin) any style is very recommendable. The meat is excellent there.

ALL RESTAURANTS OFFER MORE OR LESS THE SAME THINGS, BUT FOR A GOOD QUALITY/PRICE, I WOULD RECOMMEND THE 'CASA MARTON' RESTAURANT, IN THE SQUARE OF THE TOWN, NEAR THE RIVER.
IT IS A SMALL RESTAURANT, SO IT WILL PROBABLY BE NECESSARY TO RESERVE.
ANY MEAT WILL BE GREATLY COOKED, BUT IF YOU TRY THE TROUT, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.

THERE IS ALSO THINGS TO DO AT NIGHT, HAVING SOMETHING WITH FRIENDS IN A TERRACE (SUMMER OF COURSE) OR IN A PUB AND GOING TO DANCE AFTERWARDS. THERE AREN'T MANY PLACES, SO IT WON'T BE DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO FIND THEM.

IF YOU HAVE NO CAR, IT WON'T BE THAT EASY FOR YOU TO MOVE AROUND. REGARDING TRANSPORTATION, THEY ARE PRETTY FAR BEHIND FROM OTHER TOWNS IN SPAIN.
THERE IS A BUS CONNECTION TO A CITY CALLED 'SABIÑANIGO' AND FROM THERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE BUSES OR TRAINS TO OTHER DESTINATIONS.
IF YOU'RE HEALTHY AND NOT AFRAID OF THE HIGH AND LONG SLOPES (THIS IS THE PYRENEES), MAYBE THE BYCICLE IS A GOOD THING FOR YOU.
BUT I PREFER THE CAR OR IF THE WEATHER HELPS A MOTORCYCLE.

Miscellaneous: WEATHER HERE IS UNPREDICTABLE AND HAS TO BE KEPT IN MIND THAT THIS TOWN IS AT 2000km ABOVE SEA, SO ALTHOUGH SUN MIGHT SHINE, NIGHTS ARE SOMETIMES A BIT COOL, EVEN IN SUMMER.
FOR WINTER, WARM WINTER CLOTHES AND BOOTS/SHOES APPROPRIATE FOR SNOW, BUT IN SUMMER DO NOT FORGET CLOSED SHOES AND A THIN JACKET/JERSEY IF AFTER DINNER YOU DON'T WANT TO CATCH A COLD.

Fondest memory: IT'S A BEAUTIFUL TOWN, QUIET WHEN IS NOT HIGH SEASON. YOU CAN BE IN PEACE THERE, PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY WILL MAKE YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE CONSIDERED A FOREIGNER (NO MATTER SPANISH OR NOT ). THEY ACCEPT TOURISM AND FOREIGNERS BECAUSE IS THE ONLY WAY OF LIVING THEY ACTUALLY HAVE, BUT SOME DO NOT ACCEPT OUTSIDERS THAT WELL. NOBODY SAYS IT DIRECTLY, BUT IT'S IN THE AIR.
