Sos del Rey Católico Things to Do

I arrived to SOS del Rey Católico hitchhiking, coming from Pamplona, spent the night there (there is a shelter for pilgrims) and the next day I had to take the bus to Huesca because there was no much traffic of cars and it was very cold. The bus stop is just in front of the Chocolates Santa Orosia building.
The previous day I had to walk many kilomters and only when I was near SOS del Rey Católico a truck gave me a ride. It is hard to hitchhike in that almost uninhabited area.

The Iglesia de San Estaban and its adjacent ruined tower are at the summit of Sos. The gothic church, with its 13th century frescos in the crypt are worth a visit. The crypt (entry 1 euro) is accessed down a very steep spiral staircase.

This small bar and restaurant (Asador) is in the midst of old Sos.

It has a restaurant upstair, but we ate raciones of sausages in the bar. The bar is a pleasant, small, typical vallage establishment.

    Favorite Dish: Sausages!

If you are travelling to Sos by car, take a drive around on some of the minor roads. The lack of traffic and outstanding views make this an interesting experience.

View from the hills - Sos can just be seen.
