Favorite thing: So, apparently Woody Allen is dearly loved in Oviedo (remember "Vicky, Christina, Barcelona?") and they've got a statue of him somewhere. We didn't see it. If we had I totally would've posed next to it, on my knees, so to look like a little girl. Would've been SO good.
But no. I had to settle for a photo of the statue. Lame.

Favorite thing: Oviedo is a wonderful city. It's undergone a lot of work lately to fix damage to old buildings. They've closed off the old narrow streets in the city center (casco antiguo) because traffic pollution was damaging the buildings. Now each building has been meticulously cleaned and it's a pedestrian's dream. Oviedo's streets are always clean (according to a government survey, it is the cleanest city is Spain- there 250 street cleaners in Oviedo working 24 hours a day.). There is wonderful shopping and dining experiences. The old quarter is especially good for restaurants during the day and partying at night. Since there are no cars in this area, it is very pedestrian friendly.
Fondest memory: The picture is an example of how the city looked after the streets were closed to cars, but before restoration and cleaning began. You can clearly see the streaking of pollution on the exterior of the buildings.
