The photo is a friend demonstrating his amature talents at pouring sidra (alcoholic apple cider) in the traditional manner. Sidrerias, which specialize in this "rough" cider, often have an excellent menu of local specialties.The best restaurants are the places where the locals eat (which is pretty much everywhere in Asturies.) Great restaurants and cafeterias abound in Asturies. When you are in Oviedo, be sure to eat at an outdoor restaurant in the old quarter (casco antiguo)! In Mieres the best local food is found in the cider square (Plaza de Requejo), its one of the best places in Asturias to enjoy sidra in the traditional manner as demonstrated by my friend. FABADA!!!!
