This local restaurant is recently opened and is already a popular place with the locals, Spanish and British.
The Pa amb oli menu is probably one of the most extensive I've seen. Thgey also do Tapas, menus and Majorcan dishes.
Favorite Dish: I tried the cheese and Serrano Pa amb oli. and really enjoyed it although the portion could have been a bit larger.
It appears that more and more Spanish or Mallorquin restaurants are opening up and about time.
This place although down a back street has a nice terrace.
What did surprise me is that with drink orders a Tapa is delivered to the table. The Tapas here are of a reasonable portion and the waiting staff never forget to deliver.
The menu is straight forward with the usual escalop of pork or half chicken, but there are typical Spanish dishes which can be ordered by Racion 1/2 racion or even 1/4 racion or you can order mixed Tapas plates starting at €5 up to €15 for a large.
The house wine is not too bad and the beer cold. Service is also good!
Favorite Dish: I'm a sucker for the Serrano!
This restuarant is at the back of the town one street parallel to the main pedestrian zone. It is in a modern building so it hasn't got a rustic feel to it but the food is superb and worth a little walk for!!
Favorite Dish: For a starter we had Sobrasado which is the local sausage meat that comes from a special black pig. This is baked with cheese , served with toasted Mallorquien bread and of course the complimentary bread with Aioli and olives. Our second starter was Cod souffle which tasted awsome! I then had saddle of rabbit in a white wine sauce with mushrooms, pine nuts and raisins!! Excellent!! And my lady had stuffed squid which too was delish!! With that we had a nice crisp local white wine.
A highlight from the menu Calderata de Langosta. which is a local stew with locally caught lobster. This has to be ordered in advance as the lobsters are fresh that day and you order for two people minimum, you also pay the going price which can be anything around €75 per person.
This restaurant is fairly typical of Cala Millor I suspect. The staff were friendly enough, but this has to be one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. We were pretty tired out after a day's sightseeing so stoppped off to check out restaurants in cala Millor on the way home to Porto Cristo. What a mistake!
After walking around aimlessly for a while, we settled on this place because we thought a) pizza is surely a safe bet anywhere and b) it had a nice enough outside terrace. It's about as pricey as any of the other restaurants in Cala Millor. Menus in English and German, but that isn't exactly unusual here!
Favorite Dish: We had 2 'Rusticas', with ham and salami. I'm not sure if there was a Germanic influence going on here, because the only place I've had such a dreadful pizza has been in Vienna. The base just tasted of such weird dough, far too flour-y. The ham was ok, but the salami tasted off. And it was obviously cheddar being used not mozzerella.
Two pizzas came to 14 euro. We got free schnapps at the end, but couldn't even drink that as I was driving! Not a good experience and a lesson learned!
This very pleasant little restaurant offers a large selection of Tapas and a varied menu they also have a daily menu of specials, especially seafood which they buy fresh from the market every day. The service is good, especially if the owner Sion is serving. Lunches are not served as the restaurant is open evenings only.
Favorite Dish: Yet again we came here twice. The first time was for a late brandy and espresso but the secon time we had some Tapas, mushrooms with cheese and spicey cooked chicken along with the comp. bread Aioli and olives. We both went for the grilled Dorado or Sea Bream, complimented by a local wine from Macia Batle!! Excellent!!
Worth trying is the Pa amb oli which is Majorcan bread with olive oil, toms and a topping of your choice. I would go for either the cheese or Serrano ham. The ham is suberb and is basically air dried pigs leg complete with trotter!! 'king delish though!!
This place for me was ideal for an English breakfast. Not to everyones taste but if eaten just before 12.00 noon it will keep you going until the evening.
Favorite Dish: The English breakfast!
