Cala Millor Things to Do

  • Aquabus

From the boat jetty at the east end of the beach there are rtegular daily boat trips. The boats are catamaran and offer underwater views, although these are only possible when the boat is not in motion. The boats run up until 3 in the afternoon on an hourly basis depending on your destination. A round trip costs around € 18, if you get off to do...

  • The Beach

Cala Millor has one of the nicest beaches in Majorca and as the name suggests is "The better bay" to the neighbouring Cala Bona "The good bay" and is approx. 6km long and sandy. There are sunbeds to rent and these sit under the shade of the straw umbrellas which populate most beaches here.

  • Trike Rental

You know the song Barnaby Wild, sorry Born to be Wild, well, you can rent yourself a Trike and even partake in an organised trike tour of Majorca. If it's not a trike you're after then you can also rent bicycles here too for a more leisurely tour of Cala Millor and Cala Bona.

  • Horse carriages

At the end of the main street in Cala Millor you will find the gypsy horse carriages. Personally it's not my thing but you can take a scenic route around the town in a horse carriage!

  • A walk along the prom!

After an exhausting morning catching rays, I quite enjoyed a walk along the prom. There are the obvious gift shops and an abundance of restaurants to eat at or just sit down in the sun/shade and watch the people whilst supping on a nice cold San Miguel!

  • Watersports

Cala Millor has a wonderful beach and if it's watersports you want then opposite the hotel Riu Playa you will find it all. You can hire a jetski, climb on the big banana or parasailing, water skiing wake boarding. If you just want to relax then there are beds for hire. I spent almost the whole day without even seeing the vendor.

Cala Millor Restaurants

  • Pa Amb Oli

This local restaurant is recently opened and is already a popular place with the locals, Spanish and British. The Pa amb oli menu is probably one of the most extensive I've seen. Thgey also do Tapas, menus and Majorcan dishes. I tried the cheese and Serrano Pa amb oli. and really enjoyed it although the portion could have been a bit larger.

  • Tapas y Racions

It appears that more and more Spanish or Mallorquin restaurants are opening up and about time. This place although down a back street has a nice terrace. What did surprise me is that with drink orders a Tapa is delivered to the table. The Tapas here are of a reasonable portion and the waiting staff never forget to deliver. The menu is straight...

  • Excellent local cuisine

This restuarant is at the back of the town one street parallel to the main pedestrian zone. It is in a modern building so it hasn't got a rustic feel to it but the food is superb and worth a little walk for!! For a starter we had Sobrasado which is the local sausage meat that comes from a special black pig. This is baked with cheese , served with...

  • British food

This place for me was ideal for an English breakfast. Not to everyones taste but if eaten just before 12.00 noon it will keep you going until the evening. The English breakfast!

  • Worst pizza ever?

This restaurant is fairly typical of Cala Millor I suspect. The staff were friendly enough, but this has to be one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. We were pretty tired out after a day's sightseeing so stoppped off to check out restaurants in cala Millor on the way home to Porto Cristo. What a mistake! After walking around aimlessly for a while,...

  • Rustic and excellent!

This very pleasant little restaurant offers a large selection of Tapas and a varied menu they also have a daily menu of specials, especially seafood which they buy fresh from the market every day. The service is good, especially if the owner Sion is serving. Lunches are not served as the restaurant is open evenings only. Yet again we came here...

A night in Havana, Cala Millor!

    by nigelw6443 Written Jul 19, 2008

Cala Millor has a strict law that does not allow loud music after midnight, except perhaps on the odd saturday.

This club is popular and plays some good music with a reasonable size dance floor. However at midnight the doors are shut and the party continues until very early.

There are many shops in Cala millor selling the usual souvenirs. Prices are all about the same. If you are coming from the UK you will get cheap perfume here also spirits and cigarettes are cheaper. There are also some good wines to be found.

What to buy: Things to look for are the typical Majorcan craft such as Leather goods, Majorcan Pearls, Lace is very good here and also things made from Olive wood.
