Felanitx Off The Beaten Path

Up a winding road a few kilometres south of Felantix is the monastery complex of Sant Salvador. Founded in the 14th century, the present structure was put in place when the original was razed to the ground by pirates. You can in fact stay over night here apparently for about around 10 euro per person.

The complex has a chapel and a cafe. Avoid the rather bleak looking cafe at the top of the complex - we took one look at the prices and left in tears of laughter! How much for a cheese baguette?!!

The best reason to come up here is for the views of the interior which are fantastic. Again, another view of Mallorca that reminds you it isn't all beaches, hotels and concrete.
