SUNSETS AND SUNSET CAFE'S, Ibiza
Another do not miss during the visit to the island is to enjoy a Sunset from San Antonio, there are many but of course if you like Café del Mar music this would be your starting point.
Maybe the sunset is not as spectacular as you expect (well clouds in the last half an hour did not help LOL) also it is crowded, if you prefer more quiet ones you have other places to go the next days.
But what makes it special is the atmosphere, the crowds, the people …..
Favorite thing: As above. A pink girl that caught the spirit of the moment.... and my eye. Dress codes here are relaxed, but expect to see many unusual outfits on the beach.
Favorite thing: Happy people outside Cafe del Mar. One point though, drinks here can be expensive at the sunset bars. I suggest you could bring a few supermarket bottles along with you, sit on the beach not the bars terrace. Oh.... and please dispose of those bottles thoughtfully, its a beach and people like to swim here.
Favorite thing: So I said that the whole bus system was confusing. Well the later it gets the less frequent the buses are and the vodka lemon slushies don't help the confusion level. But the good news was that I grabbed this stellar shot of the sunset in Ibiza ...
Fondest memory: The sun disappears from view with astonishing speed. It melts over the horizon like ice-cream over the fire. The change of mood is immediate. At this moment, the DJ drops the first upbeat tune of the evening and you know you'll probably still be awake when that sun comes up again!
Fondest memory: It's about 8.10pm and the heat is cooling from the sun. Time to pour yourself a large brandy and chocolate, sit out on the balcony and watch the sun sink slowly into the ocean. The world below almost comes to a standstill as everyone gathers below to experience the moment. Here is where I am most happy.
Favorite thing: See an Ibizan sunset on San Antonio's sunset strip. Sit in one of the bars ( Cafe del Mar, Cafe Mambo, Savannah's, Mezzanine or the newest bar Cafe Coastline ) armed with a Vodka y naranja. Listen to the chilled/ambient music and watch the sun sink into the sea. In peak summer months you will be in the company of a few thousand others. As the sun disappears, everyone applauds the spectacle. Quite stirring, there cannot be many places in the world this happens.
