Cafe del Mar is the club renowned for its great groves and awesome sunsets. It is a perfect place to go in the late afternoon, in preparation for the nighttime festivities. There is not a dance floor, and the main attraction is sitting and watching the sun go down, until it disappears, and then everyone claps, as if it was going to do something else. Weird, but not to be missed! It will inevitably be packed, but there is plenty of space on the rocks along the shore to satisfy everyone's need to sit and admire.
If you absolutely must dance immediately after the sun sets, do not fret!! Cafe mambo is directly next door! Just don't get set aflame by the fire twirlers on the way in!!
Who has not heard about the famous Cafe del Mar?
After hearing the whole collection of Stace's Cafe del mar CD's this was our start point for a good Friday night.
The atmosphere is unique, and here you can get ideas for the summer fashion LOL
Sit at the terrace if you want to watch the people, but if you want to see the people playing with the fire after sunset, the best place is to sit inside on the top floor, you will find better views and also you will feel yourself at heaven surrender by clouds.... great decoration....
Did I mention the ridiculous prices for drinks? When you go there, do not expect to pay less than 8 Euros per drink ? just crazy.
The Sunset bar at Cafe Del Mar is something of a tradition now, in recent years more people have been going over the road to the Cafe Mambo but you just cant beat a few drinks a meal and good company at the Cafe Del Mar when watching the famous Ibizan sunset. For the older crowd (30s ) it remains the perfect start to a night out.
Well it has to be sunset at the CAFE DEL MAR, an evening in Ibiza town then a club.
Dress Code:
what dress code? there are the clubbers, all bright and shiny and plenty of eccentrics but you never see a scruffy Spaniard, unless its Adrian.
You might see the odd dragon after dark though.
Touted as the original and first established in 1980. It was designed by a Catalan architect by the name of Lluis G?ell. Since it's opening, the sunsets and atmosphere of this place have been unprecedented. It's a truly unique place in the world. Much of their hype has come from their ambient music compilations. A must-visit in Ibiza! This place is one of my most favorite places I've ever been to. You absolutely must go here.
