Playa d'en Bossa Beach - A Party Beach

by pumarega Updated Oct 8, 2008

Playa d'en Bossa is the longest stretch of beach on Ibiza. The sea floor is soft and sandy, so you don't have to worry about any hard surfaces while you're wading around.

Playa d'en Bossa is probabally the loudest and most crowded beach on Ibiza. So if you are looking for a more low key retreat then this beach may not be for you. This beach is dotted with cafes, resturants and bars and most of them are playing their music loud so people laying on the beach will have something to listen too. It's more of a party atmosphere, but you should be expecting that; you are afterall in Ibiza.

There are beach chairs that can lounge or lay flat. They are set up under the large umbrella tents on the beach. Laying on one of these chairs will cost you a small cover, (i think a few euros) but it is definitely worth it if you feel like laying around on the beach. Another benefit of using the chairs is that the waitresses that service the resturant that provided the chairs will also come serve you. It's nice to have Sangria brought out to you while you lounge around on the beach.

This is a picture of the "Bora Bora" Bar and restaurant. They play it loud and they do it all day long. Good island music, and guest DJ's. Other bars along the beach play music as well.

One of, if not, the longest beach on the island. It's the other (and main) beach for people with accomodation in the middle of Ibiza town or Playa d'en Bossa. It's extremely long (the dog will love it!) and features at least 50 beach bars offering similar fare.
It also happens to lie directly under the flight path of all planes landing at Ibiza airport - so the music has to be loud:)

If being on a large beach with many other people is what you like on vacation. this is place to be. there are alot of place to eat right next to the beach. I ate lunch one day and the view was great.(of the ocean too!). I rented a chair lounger and umbrella for about 8 euros. just sit in the one you and someone will come by to collect the money. tired of jus laying there wlk on down the beach to bora bora and eat or dance or just admire the view of all the young people baking in the sun

    Playa den Bossa

Playa Den Bossa is ideal for young singles or families.

It has a good sandy beach, ideal if you happen to be an aeroplane spotter. The planes come over the beach as they land and take off from the nearby airport. Don’t be put off by this, it is not particularly noisy and can be quite entertaining seeing them coming in so low.

There are quite a number of lively bars and the nightclub The club Space is in this resort which seems to be the i"n place" at the moment for the 18+ The water park is within walking distance. You will also find entertainment centres for the family where the kids can play on the bouncy castle whilst mum and dad down the sangria.

If however like us you prefer bars with comfortable chairs where you can sit for hours people watching then try another resort. We did find one such bar, but they are few and far between.
