To tell the truth - i was a kind of dissappointed: in my imagination it looked completely different - BUT there is no beach, only some stony rocks, the surrounding is by far not nice, the drinks are expensive... but what makes this spot so unique os the people, peacefully sitting there, drinking something, looking at the sun and listening to the music. So you have to go there to experience it yourself....

The infamous must do sunset cafe of Cafe del Mar. While the actual cafe sucks in terms of ambience and comfort, and there is no beach - just a few rocks - and it is located in San ANtonio which requires dealing with mobs of drunken Brit youth, everyone who is everyone collects, or has collected, at this meeting point to watch that sunset while the DJ spins some of the Islands most celebrated sounds. It is simply a must do for the music. Just get there really early, say by 5pm, grab a great table view and sit back for the next 3 hours of drink and meet as many other sun gazers as you can for nightly hook up.

Take a trip to San Antonio, find a bar by the beach, have a drink and watch the sun slip slowly into the sea. AMAZING!
We were staying in Playa Den Bossa and hired a car making sure we saw the sunset.

If you want a more silent sunset, go up to Cap Negret. There is a viewpoint and you can look over the cliffs, and on your right is a hotel/restaurant, La residencia de la torre, where you can have a drink on the terrace.

Get yourself to Sunset Strip. This is the bit of land facing the sunset in San Antonio offering various bars, including the famous Cafe del Mar and Cafe Mambo, the more recent addition of Cafe Savannah and the recently refurbished Sugar Sea. Further round the bay, there are more places focussing on a day to night ideal. Kanya bar and Coastline Cafe both have pools for the daytime and restaurants for the evening as well as organised music events and free parties at night.
The sunset is a real global event with people of all nationalities gathering together to watch the beautiful sunset over the sea. Each of the bars along the strip has a DJ who plays the sunset, which is a special skill. The final few tracks they play as the sun sinks below the horizon can make or break the mood of a sunset. If they get it right, everyone will be in tears as the sun goes down and will burst into spontaneous applause as the final note of the song coincides with the last drop of light disappearing from view. Pure genius!

What is more idyllic and relaxing than sitting at a peaceful cafe overlooking the sea, wating a wonderful sunset? Not much! There are many all over Ibiza, obviously the west coast is the ideal spot to watch the sun go down.

One of the must do's of Ibiza is a sunset viewing and the best place to do it is at Cafe Mambo in San Antonio. Not only are the view, the vibe, and the food top notch, but after the sunset, you can always catch a big name DJ like Erick Morillo or Roger Sanchez spinning for no cover, which works out well if you're too low on euros to see them at their regular Ibiza club nights. There are usually fire twirlers doing a show on the beach at night while the DJ plays, also. The mojitos at Cafe Mambo are great, and the chicken fingers are the best I've ever had anywhere. Arrive early (6:30pm) to get a table before the sunset starts, as it gets packed fast leaving no tables available.

Every day at sunset in San Antonio, people gather at the restaurant cafes down by the water to enjoy the suset. They have music and festivies, even flame throwers and other shows. Cafe Del Mar is one of the best spots. Great experience.

You can catch the sunset from any bar on the sunset strip, This picture is from Cafe Mambo. It's cheaper than Cafe Del Mar, and has (in my opinion) better music. The night this picture was taken the musical entertainment was provided by Eric Morillo. After sunset, you can stick around and watch the fire shows.. very entertaining, worth buying a round...
