Portinatx Things to Do
Apart from the Portinatx beach (yes, I know, it’s more than enough when you travel to an island) you can also visit the one and only site/attraction of Portinantx which is an old pirate Tower that can be seen on the other side of the bay.
You can actually drive there but we just took some pictures from the beach and decided to stop and drink a beer at the nearby café/restaurant instead of driving…
No surprise lots of hotels have risen near the Portinatx beach which is actually 3 different ones, s’Arenal Gros (170m long), s’Arenal Petit (50m long) and Port de Portinatx (35m long).
Calm waters, natular sand with some rock areas. Family friendly beaches as the water are low depth at the beginning. There are the usual facilities: loungers, parasols, showers etc
Although we preferred other more peaceful beaches on the island it was nice to be here for a while, at least for as long as we tried to swim because the screaming of the kids playing on the sand send us after some minutes to the near by café for a beer :)Related to:

This café/restaurant is located right next to the main parking where the Spar market is. There are some seats inside but the terrace with view was ideal for a cold beer after a long driving that day.
The owner was very friendly suggested something to eat too but we weren’t hungry yet so we just ordered café con leche (1,5e) and a local beer (2e).
There is also a soccer table (pic 3, no surprise barca vs real colors) located outside next to a common pool billiard table.
how to go there
Portinatx is on the north part of Ibiza, 29km from Ibiza town, 8km from San Juan, 18km from port de San Miguel, 22km from Santa Eulalia, 36km from Sant Antoni.
From Ibiza town drive north on the main road (C-733)
From Sant Antoni drive on C-731 towards Ibiza and then into C-733. There smaller more scenic routes away from the main road but there were moments we just didn’t know what to do on some crossroads without any sign around.
There are 2 buses that come all the way up to Portinatx but they are not very frequent. The bus stop is on the main road overlooking the eastern end of the beach.
Bus #20 depart from Ibiza at 10.15, 12.15, 15.00, 17.00, 19.30. On weekends only at 10.15, 17.00
Bus #21 departs from Santa Eulalia.
There must be boat connection between Portinatx and port de Sant Miguel during the summer months but we didn’t use it and couldn’t find information about it
