Café Matinal: Best breakfast on the island!

by BurgerQueen Written Apr 21, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Café Matinal is a breakfast bar located in Sant Francesc. They are serving breakfasts only.
They have several menus from which you can chose and a counter full of croissants, freshly home baked cakes and biscuits, fresh juices, jams, tea ... and coffee is excellent!
They are open Mon-Sat from 8am to 3pm (closed on Sundays), so you can go there even if you wake up late.
It can be quite busy in August, above all after 10am.

    Es Mirador: Perfect location

by BurgerQueen Written Apr 17, 2008

    View from Es Mirador

The location where Es Mirador is build is wonderful.
We stopped there for an aperitif at sunset time while going back to Es Pujols from La Mola just because we could not help doing it (take a look at the picture linked to this tip to understand why!).
We wanted to stop for dinner as well, but it was fully booked...
Remember to book in advance, it seems to be quite busy!

El Sueño: Recommended by the rep...

    by Flem2002 Updated Sep 5, 2006

Enjoying the desserts at El Sueno!

Or rep recommended this restaurant and it was nice and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Like many places in Formentera, it was largely open air and quiet early evening, getting fuller and louder by 10pm.

The owner was a German lady, so much of the menu was inspired by German dishes, but there was a mix of other European cuisine too.

Reservations are required as it gets very busy (it's popular with the German tourists).

Las banderas: It got lively after Midnight

    by Flem2002 Updated Sep 5, 2006

Thye moody atmosphere of the bar

The atmosphere in this place is amazing - it's very Morroccan inspired, with low lighting, brightly coloured lanterns and candles illuminating the place. It's a hotel, but the open air restaurant on the beach is open to non-residents, the food is varied and fresh (from steaks and seafood to Morroccan tagines etc) and the staff very friendly.

The restaurant was usually quiet at around 8pm when we ate, but in true Spanish style, it got livlier and livlier as the night progressed, and would be full by Midnight, a mix of locals, tourists and rich people swanning in from their yachts.

It's dark, romantic, chilled out and the perfect way to finish off your day.

    El Mirador: A wonderful view!

by AlexDJ Written Jan 3, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

To experience a sunset from the Mirador restaurant on the winding road up to La Mola with the spectacular view of the island below, when the blazing sun sinks into the blue sea beyond the mythical rock of Es Vedra at the tip of Ibiza, is a unique spectacle!

Favorite Dish: the specialities of this restaurant are fresh fish (grilled, with green sauce ...), paella (with fish, meat and fish, shellfish) and seafood rice in addition to a complete menu.

I liked this one. you sit outside in a "terrace" covered with trees and leaves and climbing plants. the atmosphere was right with quite a few locals eating there (not the usual italian mob!) and the food was very good!

This is the one of the favorite See Food Restaurant in the FORMENTERA. The ambience of this restaurant is very stylish and cool. Certainly the price of here is not so cheap in this island, but it's worth !

Favorite Dish: Try to eat PAELLA !! That's all. I can't imagine you can leave this island without eating PAELLA. The marine products are so fresh !!

    S'Avaradero: Seafood and Steaks

This restaurant is one of the better ones on Formentera. They have a terrace with a good view over the beach and the sea onto the island of Ibiza in the distance.

Favorite Dish: Try their argentinian style steaks.
