Even in May the weather could be bad and rainy. Also a little bit cold in the evening. Don't forget a pullover or jacket.

In summer you definetly need sun lotion with a high protection factor.

If you plan not to stay at the beach the whole time you can find many subjects to take pictures. If you buy a film at the tourist places it is more expensive. Like everywhere

If you're coming to Mallorca in spring I recommend to bring some trousers and t-shirts, as well as some pullovers and a light jacket for the evenings. Temperatures should be about 15-20°C. However in the evnings it gets a bit cooler. In some parts of the island it was also very stormy all day long.

In summer it gets really hot and you'll need summer clothes only (probably there are also exceptions; me, I always bring a pair of trousers, a pullover and a light jacket anyway). Oh, and don't forget your sunscreen as well as your sunglasses!

During the month of March is the weather very changeable. Sweaters, light coats and closed shoes has always place in our luggage. We even bought some pullis and a shawl.

Try to make your suitcase stand out. Customise it. A lot of people go on holiday, so there are a lot of suitcases on the carosel at the airports you really do want to see your suitcase, just a baggage strap WON'T DO we all have them and the suitcases are all similar.

Beach wear, coverall as too much sun really does hurt your skin, sunglasses, beach footwear , good pair of walking shoes if you are thinking of walking any where because hot, tired, sweaty feet don't make for a pleasant holiday walk.

usual medical supplies of plasters, wipes, sunburn lotion, painkillers for the headache that the sun is sure to cause, insect repellent, and anti-histamines.

camera, flash if needed, batteries and maybe battery charger if re-chargables are taken a good supply of film or smart cards if digital camera.

towels, drinks, snacks, parasol and sandmats, good book to read, disposable camera in case it gets stolen, sunglasses, snorkelling gear, fishing rod and tackle, small container you can wear around your neck or waist to put rings into (I know a lot of people who have lost their rings/chains in the sea) and it could also double for some money to be put into for the ices or beers you didn't take with you.

Our suitcase is always packed light because you always want to bring home extras. Toiletries smallest size you are going to need, leave excess at hotel you can buy more when you get home. Always take travel kettle, tea, sugar and coffee also whitener, and travel adaptor. take a disposable camera for days on the beach when your things may be left unattended for short periods of time, if taking mobile phones don't forget the charger. Shorts and vest tops do you really need one for each day you will probably be in swimwear for most of the holiday anyhow so clothes would only be stored or worn for and hour or so a day you could wear same vest and shorts couple days alternet or mix and match so it looks like different outfit. lay all your clothes out before you go to make sure you have just enough with couple tidy evening outfits and blokes always take long sleeved shirt and pant with tie some places only let you in with these also a tidy pair of shoes for evening wear.

In August: Light T-Shirts in summer are enough.... I never needed a long sleeve in all the ten days, even at night it was hot enough for T Shirts...well it was the heat wave over Europe in August 2003. Don´t think it´s much cooler anyway!

    Sun Lotion is a must!!!

Bring your laptop if you don´t have enough photo cards for your digi cam :)

I saw a lot of parasols at the airport, it´s very useful for a day a t the beach.

If you are travelling Anywhere and using a Rucksack / Backpack as your luggage then I would Strongly recommend that you use some form of Rucksack / Backpack Pro-tector !!This tip is from my own personal experience, as I have had Big Problems having my Rucksack damaged or even destroyed by airlines, particularly on Airport Carousels,
What can happen is that one of the straps can drop in-between the lats on the moving Carousel and then as your Rucksack goes around a corner, the strap gets ripped off, I lost the entire back and carrying system from one of my rucksacks !!
I have tried many of the Rucksack / Backpack Protectors that are available on the market and was disappointed with how they performed, So after having many problems with these decided to design and manufacture my own.
Full details of how this came about are written up on my Nepal page.

Also, after successfully designing, producing and selling the Rucksack Pro-tector for several years, I have now introduced some new lines such as a Pro-Tector Travel Wallet and a Pro-Tector Document / Valuables Travel Pouch.
If you think that any of the above would be of benefit for yourself on your own travels then please take a look at my web-site at . Pro-Tector
