 | Majorca Island Shopping | Tips 11 - 20 of 25 | | Found this excellent and well displayed antique shop right in the centre of the hostorical district of Palma. The shop itself boasted some impressive chandaliers. It seemed to especially strong on Art Deco pieces. Some were originals, other reproductions - but defineltely worth a browse. In my opinion gift shops should look 'Olde worlde' and sell complete rubbish so that you avoid them like the plague. This shop unfortunately is stuffed full with well displayed gifts, art, lamps, models, and the like. My wife claims it is one of the best and most delightful shops she has been in recently. I on the other hand stood in the middle of the shop with my eyes closed in case I caught a glimpse of the prices of the pieces she was smiling at. You will have to take her word that the prices were in fact "Very reasonable". Maybe, but 'very reasonable' doesn't equal free. These sandals are really my favourite shoes in summertime!!! I've bought them in a shop in Palma. They were also avaiblable in different colours.
I don't remember what I paid for the shoes, but it wasn't very expensive. The price was really worth it. Leave a Comment Theme: Shoes

If you stay at Palma Nova or Magaluf, there is a limited offer of shops, just a few stores (including a Lacoste store) and some touristy shops. Fortunately you're only 25 minutes away from Palma (by car/bus/taxi). Palma has lots of different shops, including El Corte Ingles (a departement store.. a bit outdated, but suits more mature women). H&M, Mango and Zara are among the high-street chains you'll find in Palma. Juts be sure to avoid local holidays and siestas.
It is not particularly cheap, and the prices are usually quite similar to home if you visit the high street chain stores. I saw some clearly overpriced belts in an independent store, so be careful not to waste your money! You can find bargains though, my best advice is Massimo Dutti which is very reasonably priced in Palma!! :) Theme: Women's ClothesDirections: Get off at El Corte Ingles (ask anyone.. they know where it's situated) and continue exploring the city by foot. You'll definitely walk by a lot of shops..

We went to shop in Palma, expecting a market and a great variety. In fact, we returned with just a couple of souvenirs. There is no market (the type where you get to haggle and choose from a wide range of products), only shops, a lot of boutiques. Nothing original. There is a shoe shop calles Hollywood (and several others) though, where we managed to find great pairs of shoes made from local leather. Depends on what you're after.
Pearls, leather items, embroidery, glass souvenirs. An original thing to buy which tourist offices don't tell you about is a 'siurello con silbato'- a whistle made of clay, in a shape of some figurine, all white. You can buy them in Las Ramblas boulevard.
Prices vary, but generally seemed to be lower than in the UK (where I am based). Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesDirections: Palma
