You have to be very careful because they are quick & can easily do it without you realising whats happened.

Be careful with the taxi drivers, especially in S'Arenal at night. Although they are obliged to use taximeters, some don't (and some do, but have a non-smoking sticker or something like that in front of the display, so you can't see, what you have to pay).
So demand that they use the taximeter, at least negotiate with them the price before you get in. Leave a Comment

Never mind how thirsty you are, do not buy from the vendors selling refreshments at the beach! Just ignore them, because if you look interested they will open a can and you'll have to pay for it exorbitant prices.
It is also useless to explain them, that you won't buy the drink. If it is open, you have to pay, because otherwise they scream around and charge you some crimes.... Leave a Comment

Please beware of the gypsy women rose sellers in the gardens of the Royal Palace.
They come up to you and put a rose on to your clothing and when you get your bag or wallet out to pay for it a crowd of them gather around you to distract you while your wallet or bag is picked. I have seen this done to tourists on a number of occassions. Please be aware and if they put a rose on your clothing don't stop just take the rose of and throw it on the ground. Leave a Comment

After several sangreias, it may seem like a laugh to send nice old kindly Uncle Cyril a postcard of a three-breasted Spanish madonna with an unfeasibly large and hairy 'poodle' or nice Aunt Edna who has lived all her life in a small conservative village in Hampshire a postcard of a macho hunk balancing between two chairs with a large weight hanging off his todger - but they may not see the funny side when it pops (or plops) through the letterbox (oh er Misses !)
