A matter of Lingo, Palma de Mallorca
In Mallorca, anything goes. You will see old men at cafes drinking beer at ten in the morning, and young people going home from clubbing at four. There is supposedly a drinking age, but no one seems to abide by it. They are, for the most part, very nice to foreigners, and many of the people living in Mallorca are British or German expatriats. Tipping is not necessary or expected in restaurants, but in taxis is okay. If you don't speak Spanish, remember a smile goes a long way.
when going to a shop or restaurant, always start with HOLA instead of Hello, you will get better service. It's also good to learn some spanish and try to speak it, they might speak English to you back, but they do appreciate the effort you've made!!
