Overpricing, Palma de Mallorca

Don't go to the Nu-parc bar / cafe beside the lake opposite the Cathedral unless you want to order the most expensive beer or coffee in Palma. The waitresses need a lesson in customer service and the chairs break when you sit down. The view is quite nice but not worth stopping here for.

Unique Suggestions: Enjoy the view of the fountain and the Cathedral long enough to take a couple of pictures and then walk on. If you need a drink, walk up to the old town away from the centre for a reasonably priced drink or lunch served by someone who knows how to smile.

Fun Alternatives: Walk for a few minutes away from this tourist area. If you're heading along the Paseo Maritimo towards the port stop at The Hotel Casta Azul. There are tables outside or inside and the bar prices are lower than most ordinary bars along the seafront.

Don't use the payphone's creditcard option, I had several calls that wasn't even connected charged to my VISA- one call was $80! I disputed it and got most of my money back, but not thanks to the phonecompany, they were very unhelpful, but rather the VISA people

When you take a taxi somewhere, always remember to check the price before you start the journey, they will add extra price if you don't!! The drivers don't all speak English, so learn to ask it in spanish.

water motors prices are high between 5000-6000 pts for 2 persons for 15-20 min. but if there's no wind it's a great fun ..
