The main reason to visit San Antonio was to check the sunset. No surprise there is a raw of café/pub along the west coast where you have your expensive drink while lounge music is playing at the background. They are famous for their cd compilations with the same name.
We preferred to stay at the popular Café del Mar because we found a nice table with good view. When we saw the menu we laughed of course, if you dare try capuchino (4e), water soda (4,5e!), cola/sprite/etc (5e!), glass of wine (5,5e), 1L of sangria (24e), cocktails (10-12e) etc
We ordered two San Miguel (local beer) for 5,50 each! The most expensive beer we drunk on the island but we didn’t really regret it, it was nice there although I can understand why hundreds of other people prefer to buy beers from a nearby store and then just relax on the beach watching the same sunset like we did :) As we traveled there in mid may the truth is that there weren’t many people on the beach, just 5-6 people while everybody else was on the cafes.
After visiting San Antonio church we noticed this small place selling ice cream. Although miday it was one of the few places that was busy so there was no wonder if it was popular.
They have a nice collection of tastes, a huge cone with two balls of ice cream costs 3,90 euro.
We also tried an iced coffee (2,8e or 3e with icecream) which was just ok.
The place is colorful, you can seat inside to avoid the heat or outside at one of the colorful small tables.
