Buses

by shizzler

The bus service in Menorca is great. All the buses have displays to let you know where you need to get off etc. They're clean and not crowded. I think i paid about 4 English pounds to get to Ciutadella and back, from cala n Forcat. It took about 25-35 mins and was an easy route to remember. There are bus stops clearly marked through the main road in cala n Forcat. You pay on the bus for a ticket, but at Ciutadella you pay at the booth before you get back on the bus. The drivers we had spoke good English too, so if you weren't sure where you needed to get off they would let you know.

Really Good Prices for Rental Cars | recar.org

by travel.guru

RECAR has your car, at least that's what they claim, but I have been able to book a car even on a Holidays, which is a good thing here on Mallorca. When traveling with family and friends, you get a second driver included ... which is a great thing, and the price is most accurate on their website, that what you see is what you pay. ... A lot of companies here in Spain add taxes and service fees up to 60 € when you go to pick up the car at the station. Big problem, because either you pay the fee and get the car, or have to leave the airport without a car ... and you probably can't get one again that quickly. If anyone has any questions about coming to the Balearics: Mallorca, Ibiza & Menorca, just drop a line: travel.guru@hotmail.com.-TG

Belearia super fast ferry, Federico Garcia Lorca

by russian_yaz

This is the newest ferry of the Balearia ferrys company. I took it from Palma de Mallorca to Denia. It makes a one hour stop in Ibiza. The travel is fast and quiet, only 5 hours, if travelling from Ibiza, only two. There are 2 types of acommodation. Sirena and Neptuno. Sirena is the cheapest and doesn't include anything. Neptuno includes a small snack and drink. I took Sirena acommodation and it was very comfortable. I even slpet, I had enough space to sleep with the minimum comfort. In this ferry U are not alowed to go out because is a "super fast ferry" so ourside is dangerous or somethign like that because of the winds or something else.

There are 3 different companies that travel to the Balearic Islands and of course Palma de Mallorca, the main city. The companies are:- Transmediterranea: 2 super fast ferrys, 2 ferrys and one cargo ferry. - Balearia: 2 super fast ferrys, one fast ferry and 2 ferrys. - Iscomar: Is more dedicated to cargo and cars but also has one fast ferry- TurboCat: only goes from Barcelona to Alcudia and Menorca- MedMar: only departs from Sète (France) to Palma de Mallorca, good for frenchsIn all of these ferries U can take your car with U. Bicyles are for free. Check out the web page I posted in order to gather more info about these companies.

Roads

by russian_yaz

Mallorca has a highly developed road network covering over 1,100 km, which is centred around three main axes setting out from Palma de Mallorca: the Llevant motorway, the Ponent motorway and the central motorway which goes to Inca.It also has radial network of local minor roads, such as those from Palma de Mallorca to Andratx, Manacor, Artà, Cala Rajada and Santanyí, as well as other transverse axes, such as Andratx to Port de Pollença road, the Artà to Port d'Alcúdia road and the Santanyí, Felanitx, Manacor road. There are also regular bus routes which criss-cross Mallorca daily and which allow visitors to explore the island's villages and enjoy the charms of the countryside. In 2001, the new bus station came into service, with its large passenger terminal, and acts as a starting point for the regular transport links operating on the island. There are also travel agencies where organised...
