Durango Things to Do

A canal runs through Durango. I don't know what it's called but I did dub it "the sad canal." As you can see, it must have seen better days. I suppose I could get onto Google maps and learn its name, but I simply don't want to.

In my mind it will always be as I see it, the sad canal...

Because my friends that I was traveling with were doing research about their genealogy, we visited a few ayuntamientos (city halls). Durango's was beautiful on the inside and the outside as well.

The town's most prominent cathedral is an interesting structure. Its exterior looks as if it's seen better days with the entrance under an arcade that seems to obscure it. However, inside it's very pretty with an impressive gold altar.

The streets of Durango held hidden surprises for us. No, I'm not talking about some hidden alleys, works of art, or other gems. I'm talking about the weird stuff; the stuff that makes you stop and say "Oh, I've GOT to get a photo of that!"

Frogs party and that New profile pic? Up, up, and AWAY?!??!

Well this was a first for me, but it was interesting! My friends wanted to see if they could find their Basque name in this cemetery. So, I figured I'd look for mine as well. Neither of our Basque names were found but my actual last name (Castillian) was.

I guess my people got around.

That's a potato chip smudge, not an entity. Lovely spot for one's remains, no? She was trying to push the lid back... My dead people Is this clich?
