by Wafro Or Iraty forest, is the biggest beech forest in Western Europe and it’s located on the French side of the Basque Pyrenees. This forest used to be a part of an ancient timber concession for local ship constructors. Now it is paradise for nature lovers, ornithologists and hikers. At the entrance of the park you’ll find several marked hiking trails, who will lead you through the forest. WATCH OUT, because sometimes there’re sings missing, so bring your compass or GPS along.
