    Just behind the Urgull Mount (on its right, when watching the ocean), the Ulia Mount is less easy to climb on. It's a bit more empty of tourist as the paths are slightly harder to walk. Before climbing there, you have to know that you may meet some snakes (I did) and, as it is a famous place for gay people to meet, don't be mesmerized (I did not) if you suddenly see (I did) some men doing their own business...

    Constitution Square is the main square at the ancient district; it is surrounded by archways and it was formerly used as a bullfight ring.

    Donostia has a small but charming ancient district (called "parte vieja"); along the narrow streets you will find several ancient buildings. The picture shows San Vicente's Church (16th century).

    Donostia tiene un pequeño pero encantador barrio antiguo (llamado "parte vieja"); a lo largo de las estrechas calles se encuentran numerosos edificios antiguos. La foto muestra la Iglesia de San Vicente, del siglo XVI.

    Donostia has a small but nice harbour; along the docks there are several sea-food restaurants. At the end of the dock there is an interesting naval museum and an aquarium.

    Donostia tiene un puerto pequeño pero muy lindo; a lo largo del muelle hay numerosos restaurantes. Alfinal del muelle hay un interesante museo naval y un acuario.

    Mount Igueldo is the hill situated on the left end of Kontxa Bay; there is an amusement park on the top, and the famous sculptures "Wind combs" are situated at the base.

    El Monte Igueldo es el cerro situado en el extremo izquierdo de la Bahía de la Kontxa; hay un parque de diversiones en la cima, y los famosos "Peines de viento" están situados en su base.

    River Urumea runs through Donostia, and debouches at Cantabrian Sea. Some beautiful bridges cross this river; near the river mouth there are some magnificent buildings of early 20th century. The famous Kursaal Congress Palace is situated on the right riverside.

    El río Urumea atraviesa Donostia, y desemboca en el Cantábrico. Algunos hermosos puentes cruzan el río; cerca de la desembocadura se encuentran algunas magníficas construcciones de comienzos del siglo XX. El famoso Palacio de Congresos Kursaal está situado sobre la margen derecha.

    This park is situated between the harbour and Kontxa Beach; during wintertime, the caducous leaves trees are quite curious.

    Este parque está situado entre el puerto y la Bahía de la Kontxa; durante el invierno, los árboles de hoja caduca del parque lucen un aspecto bastante curioso.

    Castillo de la Mota is a castle situated at the top of Mount Urgull; it was built at 12th century. Put your most comfortable shoes on, climb the hill, visit the ruins of the castle and enjoy the most awesome sight of San Sebastián!

    El Castillo de la Mota está situado en la cima del monte Urgull; fue construido en el siglo XII. Ponte tus zapatos más cómodos, trepa el cerro, visita las ruinas del castillo y disfruta la más impresionante vista de San Sebastián!

    • I don't have much pictures from San Sebastian due to the short time we stayed there, but picked up a beautiful brochure from the hostel and I'd like to show the beautiful pictures it has and the activities suggested in it. So most of the pics appearing here are not mine but the ones from in the leaflet...

    A recently opened museum in Hernani (1/2 hour away from SS) to enjoy sculptures and graphic work of the famous basque artist Eduardo Chillida. The environment is fabulous, an old typical basque house with wonderful green gardens.
