Rain or sunshine?
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather can be pretty changeable in the north of Spain, even in summer. July 2008 was unusually hot, with the temperature frequently reaching 38° C, but climate change may well make that the norm, so plenty of light clothing is a good idea, but take a jacket too just in case of rain (the first 3 Sundays I was there it rained!). If you're planning to go out partying til the small hours, I would advise not wearing sandals; I learned that the hard way - the floors get a bit disgusting after a while, and broken glass is fairly common.
We were told that winter gets cold, and that they have at least one day of snow every year, so prepare accordingly.
Luggage and bags: Don't bring big, bulky luggage if friends will be picking you up at the airport- it might not fit in the car!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Vitoria is in the rainy part of the country. Bring an umbrella. Lucky me! Didn't need one-uncharactiscally warm and sunny during our stay!
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: lots of pharmacies. look for the flashing green neon cross.
Photo Equipment: Since Vitoria isn't a tourist city, there are not many places to find film, so bring your own.
