Once in Corralejo, nearly all main streets have a cycle path alongside the pavement. Beware, cyclists often travel along these at high speeds and there are often injurys to tourist that walk across them without looking. They should be treated the same as any other road, look both ways before crossing.
The main high street in Corralejo has more than 30 Zebra crossings on it, and virtually all cars in town stop and allow people to cross (except tourists in rent-a-cars). this is the polite thing to do, and if a car BEEPS at you, it mearly a friendly you-have-right-of-way beep not a come-on-then beep.
However, it is very rude to cross the road on a non-crossing point, especially if there is a crossing point nearby.
