Visited the restaurant. Their pizzas are sublime. (I know my pizza!! and I rate this place in my TOP 10 in the WORLD) They are cooked in a traditional wood fired oven and have many different combinations of toppings.

Favorite Dish: La Diavola Pizza. Pepperoni, Onions and Red Peppers

Castaways: Great food, friendly service and a beautiful view!

    by Princess-Kitten Written Jun 20, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A very welcoming British pub/restaurant right on the harbour front, with views of Lanzarote and Lobos.

Warm and friendly staff, lovely food - anything from an all-day breakfast to a full 3 course steak dinner - and all the usual beers, wines and spirits, plus teas and coffees. The drink prices are similar to most of the restaurants in that area, but the food proces are so reasonable it balances out very well.

We went back on three seperate occasions for lunch, a Saturday night dinner and an afternoon snack with our toddler, who was made very welcome and catered for.

They sometimes have live music in the evenings, too, but the view of the little fishing boats washing up and down during the day and at dusk is so lovely and peaceful it's a pleasure to just sit outside on their veranda and just absorb the atmosphere.

Favorite Dish: My hubby and I had a fillet steak with chips and salad and all the sauces and dips, which was only 10 euros! And it was the best piece of fillet steak I'd eaten in years - perfectly cooked and so tender!

The tortilla wraps are very good as well; and are a perfect snack at only 4/5 euros each.

  • Avenidas - (pronounced aBen-Ee-das): Huge seafood platter, order for two - feed four

by StuartTheKnowItAll Written Jun 14, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Most of the seafood restaurants in Corralejo are in and around the old town harbour. This one is next to the Bristol Playa hotel a little further out from the town centre.
Its a family run place, andvery loud and typically spanish, no frills just great local seafood at very cheap prices. Its very popular with the locals, so during busy times (8-10pm) you may have to wait a while for a table.

Favorite Dish: The mixed seafood platter.
Huge variety of local fish and shellfish (not for sqeamish as head & tails are still where they should be). great value and more than plenty for a couple of hearty eaters

  • Mirando Al Sur - Argentinian grill: Best tasting Fillet Steak

by StuartTheKnowItAll Written Jun 14, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This authentic Argentinian grill in the backstreets of Corralejo offers one of the best fillet steaks in Europe. the cook on a bbq grill (no gas or electric - just natural flavour) and age their meat to perfection. There is only a dozen or so tables so avoid busy spanish eating times (8-10pm) the food is all home prepared and simple.
There is a variety of south American red wines at very reasonable prices (12-20€)

Favorite Dish: The Fillet Steak comes with home made chips and a simple salad of lettuce, tomato and raw onion. and that is all you need as you dont want to distract from the quality of the meat.
The sauce provided with the bread on the table goes very well with the meat, ask for more if youve eat it all before the main course.

    chablis: worst food in corralejo

    by patu.k Written Mar 4, 2009

Called in here with teenage son one lunchtime as it overlooks main street and you can eat outside looked nice. I ordered a ploughmans lunch there was no description but priced @ 8.50 euros which you could eat very well for in area presumed wrongly I would be getting a lovely plateful of food with both cheese and ham as not specified usual stuff to go with and nice fresh crusy bread.

What I actually got was some limp lettuce half a tomato 2 slices of cucumber some pickle 2 mouldy looking pickled onions and a handful of cheap tasteless grated cheese and a very stale piece of bread to go with it together with a small tub of margarine. I should have sent it straight back but did not want to make a fuss, hopefully this will do a better job for me, they also had cheek to keep my change as they thought I was tipping them.

    My advice walk on by.

    5th avenue: Dont miss this!

    by patu.k Written Mar 4, 2009

What a place to eat absolutely top Sunday lunch price at 10.00 euros for 2 course and 12.50 euros for 3 course, also cooking from 12pm onwards as some places unusual hours for this type of food. This restaurant also does special dishes if you were looking for that sort of an evening meal. Sunday lunch had choice of meats we chose lamb and beef all home cooked inc. beautiful little stuffing balls, and all come with yorkshire puddings even different gravy for different meats, delicious.

And, as if that were not tasty enough wait till you try dessert all come in very large bowls home made again and dressed to chef standard we all tried bits of each others as all yummy. Having said that you can dress as casual as you like, beautiful place and very nice lady that cooks and serves, bar here also and lovely background music.

  • Chablis Bar: Great food, great bar

by sdmuk Written Apr 1, 2009

I have been to Chablis several times over the past 6 years. I have always found the food to be excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming. I would not usually write a review, but I have just read pat uk comments about this bar and must say I am very surprised by what she says. I understand that people have different ideas and sometimes things may not be as good as they should. However, if this was the case it is a shame that she did not complain at the time and give them the opportunity to put things right. I feel it a bit unfair that people use forums in this way, they do not complain and then tell people that they should walk on by. My advice would be that if you did walk on by you would be missing out, not just on the food but this bar also has a great atmosphere.
