Robinson buffet: The buffet at Robinsons

    Rafael

All three, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, were absolutely great. There was everything to eat at all time, if I start to describe all the different meals that were offered, the place here wouldn´t be enough, but I can say, the dishes where very very good.
And the Service as well, one of the very funny ones who served us was Rafael (see the picture). He didn´t speak a lot german, but he was always able to comunicate with the guests.

    Local Restaurants

    goat meat dish

I think everyone does like eating in fancy restaurants. But if travel I try to find the most local of the local restaurants to discover the real taste of the country or region I visit. It could be very dangerous in some countries but not in Spain. I was looking for a goat meat dish and I found a bar in la Ampuyenta serving diffrent meat dishes. The portion was big and the price affordable - 6? for the dish you can see on the picture. If you have a very fine gourmet you should avoid such kind of bars.

El Roque de los Pescadores: Fantastic food and service

    by johnnieaka2002 Written May 29, 2007

A beautiful place right on the cliff tops of El Cotillo overlooking the 'new' harbour. The service was second to none with very professional waiters looking after you very efficiently without being overbearing. The food was delicious - we had grilled squid, mussels and returned a couple of days later for a paella at sunset - all very romantic! Very reasonably priced too. An ideal stop off after a days surfing.

Favorite Dish: Paella - awesome. Lots of fresh fish, prawns, squid and octopus

    El Sombrero: Try the Sombrero!

by lup Written Apr 9, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

El Sombrero is situated on the boulevard in Corralejo, near the harbour. The waitresses are friendly, the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. They have a terrace, with view on the harbour, the beach and the boulevard and an inside restaurant.

Favorite Dish: El Sombrero is my alltime favourite. It's like grilling on a pyramid. You get a large tray of meat and a pyramid on the table with soup. The meat is hung on the pyramid until it's ready and the soup slowly turns into a mixture of meatjuice, water and vegetables. Also try their Lanzarote Rose.

Slow Boat: Slow Boats 1 2 3 Chinese Restaurants

    Slow Boat

There are around 3 Slow Boat Chinese Restaurants in Corralejo all offering the same sort of menu and price. My tip is to have the buffet where you can have all you want to eat for 7-8 euros. You can fill your plate and then if you eat all that you can go round for seconds or thirds.

"Trip To Hong Kong": Try Them All !!!

    by Nixter01 Written Jan 26, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We tried many restaurants whilst we were here, but one of the best was the local Hong Kong restaurant. With its warm and friendly atmosphere and fantastic service you just could'nt fault it. If you are a chinese fan, then this is a must. The prices were Very good and the drinks were cheap to.
There are also Greek, Indian, Italian ( which was also excellent ) Thai and many local restaurants, my advice would be to try them all, at the prices, it would be a shame not to!

Favorite Dish: My favourite dish would have had to of been the Duck in Orange source, with the rice and extra trimmings. Served on a hot plate with the small tea-lights. If you have'nt used Chopsticks before then nows your chance. Knifes and forks are available if you choose this option, but it makes it more fun to eat with chopsticks. Besides why eat in a Western style when you are eating Eastern !

  • Restaurant El Tren: Excellent Sea bass in Corralejo

    by dedwards60 Written May 18, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Options for eating inside, very tastefully decorated, or outside at the harbour edge.
First class service, attentive without being 'in your face'.

Do try any recomendations from the staff - even down to the espresso coffee/brandy to finish which was excellent.

Eat there another twice during my two week holiday even though there are a miriad of options avaialable.

Easily the best of about ten restaurants I tried in Corralejo.

Favorite Dish: I was very impressed with my sea salt bake sea bass brought to the table and filleted for me. Absolutely delicious.

El Tren: Good Restaurante and Good Views

    Cafe area El Tren
    1 more image

El Tren is situated along the quay side at Corralejo. It has a large outside seating area for summer days and nights and also a large, well-furnished inner restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is very efficient.
One can visit El Tren for desayuno, comer or for an evening meal. A variety of food is served, from basic 'tourist fare' of steak and chips, to specialities using fish caught by local fishermen and sauces and dressings of many descriptions.
Music plays in the background, but it is not overwhelming and to sit outside, eating a tasty meal, and watching the boats sale from the nearby port is an experience not to be missed.
    I would highly recommend it.

Favorite Dish: Any of the fish dishes, as they are always tasty and not too heavy.

Castaways: Good food, friendly service and a gorgeous view!

    by Princess-Kitten Written Jun 23, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A very welcoming British pub/restaurant type of place right on the harbour front, with views of Lanzarote and Lobos.

Warm and friendly staff, lovely food - anything from an all-day breakfast to a full 3 course steak dinner - and all the usual beers, wines and spirits, plus teas and coffees. The drink prices are similar to most of the restaurants in that area, but the food proces are so reasonable it balances out very well.

The menu is quite broad, from English to Spanish with everything in between such as pastas, burgers and chicken nuggets and chips.

We went back on three seperate occasions for lunch, a Saturday night dinner and an afternoon snack with our toddler, who was made very welcome and catered for.

They sometimes have live music in the evenings, too, but the view of the little fishing boats washing up and down during the day and at dusk is so lovely and peaceful it's a pleasure to just sit outside on their veranda and just absorb the atmosphere.

Favorite Dish: My hubby and I had a fillet steak with chips and salad and all the sauces and dips, which was only 10 euros! And it was the best piece of fillet steak I'd eaten in years - perfectly cooked and so tender!

The tortilla wraps are very good as well and come with a salad so are a perfect snack at only 4/5 euros each. (We can personally recommend the cajun chicken and tuna varieties!)

(My son would heartily recommend the chocolate milk!)

Steak House: Big Steak Small Price

    by ak47uk Updated Jan 21, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Not for vegetarians

Nice restaurant with good prices, situated down a side street in Corralejo.
We had 2 Entrecote steaks with diane sauce served with chips, canary potatoes. mixed veg and a bottle of red wine for 20 euros. The house red wine was nice but weak.
    Gets busy after 6.30pm.
When you order steak it is usually a little under cooked than you asked for but they will cook it more if you want, My personal thought is that it is good medium as I think that most chefs in the canaries hate to cook steaks well done. If you want well done meat have a burger.

Favorite Dish: The steaks. They are large and tender.

    Avenida

This place is one of the most popular in Corralejo. It is open from 1.30pm (Closed Monday) The food is great in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Avendia gets very busy mostly at night. The portions generous. Steaks and fish are well worth looking at. This is a favourite with the locals.

I was really glad when while driving through Fuerteventura we found this restaurant. Everybody claims to serve the 'authentic spanish food', only here I felt this was the case.

Favorite Dish: I had the famous canary potatoes, hmmmmmm yummy!

    La Marquesina: overlooking Correljo harbour

by lomi Updated Oct 20, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are hundreds of bars and restaurants in Correlejo to choose from, especially if you walk along the beautiful harbour area.

This is a cosy local restaurant/bar overlooking the beach and harbour. Stop anytime of day for a cafe con leche, a beer or glass of wine and chill out watching the world go by.

I stopped there one evening as they have a great menu and I particularly enjoyed the fish of the day, but they also serve seafood and chicken dishes.

Favorite Dish: Try the sea-food special. Zarzuela.

Tio Bernabé: Best paella in Corralejo

by cadja Written Jul 2, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Very priceworthy restaurant with lots of canary food as well as beef and fish for those not so keen on going local. Menu in different languages. Located in the small alleys down the harbour. Cozy atmosphere and GREAT service!

We held our mom's 50's birthday dinner at this place and they really did their best to make it a great experience. Very flexible and service minded personel.

In the evenings a local musician may turn up.

Favorite Dish: Don't miss on their paella - it not only looks georgous, it also melts in your mouth.

And don't miss their cheateu briand. That meet did melt!

If you get a chance, try their starters. We got a plate with mixed canary stuff and even the most picky in our company liked the taste bites.

And don't miss on the desserts! And do try the canary dishes, don't go straight to the ice-cream. I tried two things I can't even pronounce, but they were both delicious.

Ask the staff for advice, they're more than wiling to help you.

  • El Patio of Lajares: Gastronomic dinner

by labaronne Written Jun 7, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Found the address (as well of others excellent restaurants in Fuerteventura) on this blog written by an expatriate lady:
    http://www.fuertenews.com/Restaurant%20Reviews/denarchive.html

    1) I've booked by email from Paris France for my boyfriend's 40th's birthday celebration and asked them to place some special candles on the cake.
Once arrived, we've discovered that the "Chef" Rainer (Michelin 2 stars for his previous restaurant in Hanover) had cooked especially a big birthday "Black forest" cake.

Hannah, his wife, welcomed us very warmfully. The cooking as well as the decoration was fine. We advise the gastronomic menu (starter, main dish and dessert) which vary according to the chief's inspiration.

2 gastronomic menus (the birthday cake especially made for us replacing the menu dessert) plus appetizers, 3 cups of champaign CAVA, half bottle of wine, and soft drinks (i can't drink alcohol), costed only 105 euros. We've been offered the enormous cake as part of the menu ....Moreover, it was so big that they wrapped the rest in a doggy bag for us to take away!

Hanna and Rainer also rents bed and breakfast at around 100 euros, surrounded by farms of the countryside, but with all comfort and prestige expected from high-class hotel. Lajares is located at 10kms from Corralejo and from El Cotillo, pretty fishing village and surfer's paradise. You'll find there gorgeous and wild landscape of white sand beaches.

Favorite Dish: The tartar of salmon delightful of freshness
The lamb (laid on potato pancake) was very well cooked
The cake was very light and not too sweet as the usual ones
