Making the "puros" cigars like in Cuba. The tabaco plant was brought from there and as the clime is similar, they grow well, so it's natural to see a men making by hand the large cigars in a street of Santa Cruz de La Palma. I read that those cigars was the prefered by Churchill.

there is a special date, in which everybody dress in the 19th century style, mostly white clothes, as it was the "indianos" (people who emigrated to latinoamerica) costume. take care and buy a couple of talcum powder packs, coz everybody will throw it each other. in the end, even if u dont dress in white, you will become it ;-)
Platanos is bananas. We see an intensive culture of them in all island. Large kilometers of bananas plantations. They are exported while still very green.
