    Making the "puros"

by acilina Written Aug 19, 2005

Making the "puros" cigars like in Cuba. The tabaco plant was brought from there and as the clime is similar, they grow well, so it's natural to see a men making by hand the large cigars in a street of Santa Cruz de La Palma. I read that those cigars was the prefered by Churchill.

tenerife has probably de 3Ă½most known carnival of the world afetr brazil and venice, but you sudnt lose la palma carnival.

there is a special date, in which everybody dress in the 19th century style, mostly white clothes, as it was the "indianos" (people who emigrated to latinoamerica) costume. take care and buy a couple of talcum powder packs, coz everybody will throw it each other. in the end, even if u dont dress in white, you will become it ;-)

Platanos is bananas. We see an intensive culture of them in all island. Large kilometers of bananas plantations. They are exported while still very green.
