Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, excellent singing male duo on keyboard and guitar, every evening.

Easy to sit and while away an hour or two! Didn't eat here, but the Irish coffees were special enough to keep coming back for!

Abaco is, imho, a very neat idea; and as it often happens with neat ideas, it is also a quite simple one. You simply had to reform an old colonial mansion, and serve expensive fashion drinks to the people that will undoubtedly come there, attracted to the extremely romantic environment. Simple, yet effective. :-) The same idea has been working in Palma de Mallorca for years: Classical Music, dim lights, fresh fruit in the floor (yes, you have read correctly, fruit in the floor). An absolute must while in Tenerife... unless your idea of night life begins and finish with a British pub, of course. ;-)

According to the elegant environment, classy should be the norm here, though Spanish dress codes are generally quite open. Just remember not to show up there wearing your beach flip-flops. :-p

A nice bar in the middle of Puerto de la Cruz!! At first, we didn’t trust our eyes, so our only option was to rely on our taste: a large and excellent selection of cocktails, reasonable prices, great view from the balcony, friendly staff... Totally out of place among the karaoke bars, the grill houses, the pizzerias, the horrendous neon lights that configured Puerto de La Cruz night life.

Pretty open.

Rhythm & Booze is one of the best nightclub/bars in Playa Paraiso, it has a nice bar area & there are plenty of tables & chairs around if you would like to sit around watch the tv or listen to the karaoke later on at night.

I enjoyed the cocktails here, they only cost 5 Euros and come in a big glass wit fancy straws & sparklers in them. You can sing karaoke here & sing the night away or you can sit & watch or even play pool as there are a couple of tables. The old guy behind the bar is a right laugh, really nice chap & you can have a good chat to him about anything.

Anything you like to wear. No dress code

If you are staying in Costa del silencio then this is the best bar in the resort. A great atmosphere, dancing on tables etc!!!

A good place to start a good night out in Los Cristianos is the bar of the Costamar apartments. Have a few drinks here then jump in a cab right outside the hotel and head off to the bars and clubs of Playa de las americas .

The Castle, Puerto Colon

The Castle is a bit "twee" looking but it's conveniently located on the promenade quite near to Puerto Colon and its marina. Its a good place to stop for an re-invigorating drink if you're doing the whole promenade walk and just behind it is a pretty good Mexican restaurant too, if you're passing this way at dinner times.
We passed The Castle in the mid-evening one day and found it closed, so I'm not sure if it stays open late or if this was a one-off.

Dancing the night away!

The strip of nightclubs and bars in Playa de Las Americas is known as "VERONICAS". Bobbys bar, Linekers, Busbys are the places to have a good drink and dance. Also try the Waikiki Bar , its a great bar , tucked around a corner and is often missed but is well worth visiting.

We wandered in for a cold beer one afternoon and found it such a friendly place that we visited a few times during our holiday.
they have a large DVD library of stand up comedy shows [ not suitable for children], some of which are so funny we were crying with laughter
and the drinks are very large and very cheap !

apologies for the quality of the photograph, Id had too many of the large, cheap drinks

wear whatever you like
a tiara and ball gown might be a little too overdressed though

There's a good cluster of very similar looking places (all with these thatched type of shades) around the Puerto Colon area and they're all great for sitting and watching the sun set over the sea.
Most of these places do a full menu if you want, but they're happy for you to just have a drink if that's all that you want. Drinks are usually cheaper by day than by night - by day you can usually get a "pint" for about 1 Euro.
