Beach toys by scottishvisitor These children's beach toys were on sale in nearly ever shop in Los Gigantes. It is not a good resort for families although there are loads of apartments high on the hill. The kids can't play with these things at the beach as the sea is far too rough. Maybe the apartment pools let them use them but every pool seems to have a long list of don'ts and playing with such toys is one of them. Leave a Comment Theme: Toys and Games

Pretty clocks & plaques by scottishvisitor Much more than just a shop. Set in the sleepy little village of Guia Isora in among a few local houses & some bars. The shop - come restaurant & bar has an athentic feel. Taste some local liquors have a drink & browse the jewellery gifts & postcards.
I love to collect postcards - so spent a lot of time looking for them.
Work the price out in your own currency - if it seems ok buy what you most like Leave a Comment Theme: Local CraftAddress: Guia Isora

Buy some flowers by scottishvisitor Went for a walk in Puerto De La Cruz and came across these people selling flowers. This place has been attracting tourist for over a century. It is less popular today because it is in the North of the Island which is really cloudy & doesn't get the sunshine like the southern resorts. Leave a Comment Theme: FlowersAddress: Puerto de la Cruz

Shopping For Shoes by steventilly There are tons of shops in Las Americas, you could spend a week looking around them all. The nicest of them are some of the boutiques in some of the more up-market comercial centres around Las Americas, especially in the Arona district.
Wife spent the last days of our trip using up the "spare" Euros that we had buying shoes (three pairs) and a bag. The shoe shops are good - they sell shoes that you just don't see at home, pretty (sometimes quite exotic) designs that I suppose are better suited to their weather than to ours. Wife bought shoes to take on holiday to other warm, dry places.
We were told that Santa Cruz is a freeport, and that goods there are cheaper than in the resorts. We didn't find that to be true, and even after they deducted 10% things were still more expensive than in Las Americas. Theme: Women's ClothesDirections: There are some nice shops near the Pyramide De Arona, in Las Americas as you head towards Los Cristianos

Souvenirs of the Canary Islands by easyoar These bright and colourful childrens toys make reasonable souvenirs of the Canary Islands or of Loro Parque. They are also quite good to photograph!
I didn't buy any, but I don't think they were somewhere between 5-10 Euros depending on size. Leave a Comment Theme: Toys and Games

darling, the credit card melted........... by BerniShand Tenerife is a tax free island, which means if you are visiting from the EU you MUST pay duty on luxury goods, cigarettes, liquor and perfume if you exceed the dity free allowance
All the above are very keenly priced, other good buys include leather goods [wonderful shoes !] and ceramics
you can try and get discounts, you may get lucky Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: shops everywhere

camcorder man is here again by BerniShand There are hundreds of shops selling camcorders, cameras and other electronic equipment The Canary Islands are all tax free so prices are cheap, but you do have to bargain to get the best price
always decide which make and model of camera you wish to by, the choice is bewildering it is possible the salesman will try and sell you one that he makes more profit on, not necessarily the one which suits your needs best dont forget that accessories will also be cheaper here so stock up
how big is your wallet ? generally we found that prices were 30 - 40% lower than in the UK Leave a Comment Theme: Computers and ElectronicsAddress: ALL OVER THE ISLAND

There's a lot of alternative clothing, which I love! The way the shop's decorated is also very cool and different.
