The northern borough of Santa Maria de Guia gets into a festive mood at the end of April – beginning of May, when locals and visitors alike can enjoy a trip to one of Gran Canaria’s most traditional celebrations – The Guia Cheese Fair, where, everyone can enjoy Canarian folklore music, autoctonous sports and typical island products. The star of the show is, however, without doubt, the “Queso de Flor” (Flower cheese) from Guia.
The apartment complex we stayed at was off the beaten path to nowhere - outside Maspalomas - had to take a bus to the beach & usually a taxi back as the bus lines were L O N G...........
Can't remember the name - don't think I want to!
When you walk around in the city you can catch a glimpse of the patios inside the buildings. Many houses have doors with wrought iron fences, leading from the street and into the patio.
Inside you can see the typical canarian wooden balconies overlooking the patios that are filled with flowers.
This is fantastic! You are right abow the clouds...
